BI Engineer, ZEBEDEE

• 3+ years of experience in a BI Engineering role, with a focus on building data pipelines or conducting data intensive analysis
• Intellectually curious and focused on continuous improvement and growth
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple teams, troubleshoot a problem, gather information, and recommend solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions
• Proficiency in relational databases (e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL), including writing complex queries and an understanding of ETL Framework
• Able to recognize the need for a specific OLAP & Data Warehouse design patterns from a set of requirements
• Experience in the design and development of dashboards/reports with visualization softwares, Metabase experience preferred
• Experience with tools such as dbt and airflow

Desirable

• Design, develop, and own data pipelines and models that power internal analytics for product and business teams
• Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources, develop relationships with other engineering teams to manage our data structures as the ZEBEDEE platform and suite of products evolve
• Develop strong subject matter expertise and manage the SLAs for those data pipelines
• Experience working alongside other engineers to learn and interact with platform databases and APIs
• Building and maintaining dashboards, reports, and statistical analysis
• Collaborating closely with multiple teams to effectively organize data and identify new metrics to be tracked
• Perform analysis and recommendations toward opportunities for process improvement and automation
• Develop, maintain and update business and technical documentation related to BI
• Uses SQL or other tools to develop queries, views, and data tables to assist in analyzing issues, applying best practices in data analytics and visualization and verifying that standards for quality and confidentiality are met
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in BI development, data warehousing, and data visualization
