Role
Who you are
- 5+ years commercial experience building frontends
- 3+ years commercial experience with React
- Experience building pixel-perfect UIs from designs (Figma, Sketch, etc)
- A deep understanding & appreciation of UX. User feedback such as spinners & meaningful error messages should be an implicit requirement in everything
- Experience using CSS frameworks such as Tailwind
Desirable
- Proven experience building React Native mobile apps
What the job involves
- We've built up an ambitious roadmap that requires a good problem solver. From rebuilding our internal tools bit-by-bit without losing functionality to large new projects, you'll be working with stakeholders to help plan, prioritise and execute this roadmap as well as solve the frontend problems that come with it
- Some pieces of work will involve receiving Figma designs and implementing a pixel-perfect build
- Other pieces of work will involve receiving wireframes and using UI components from a chosen library (TailwindUI, for example) to bring the wireframes to life
- Occasionally you'll liaise with the backend team to provide overall estimates for how long development projects will take, so overall roadmaps can be organised and kept accurate
- You'll be given the freedom to decide strategy for creating maintainable codebases. This applies to all frontend codebases whether existing or new

Shepper is setting out to help companies keep track of their assets. They use their network of 'Shepherds', similar to mystery shoppers, to monitor, inspect and review companies physical assets from properties, to billboards and retail displays.
In the past few years, Shepper has grown to a network of tens of thousands of people who can perform these reviews and offer real-time reports and has completed checks for their customers across a wide range of industries. The company has also been backed by various investors, including the UK's largest insurance company, Aviva.
Shepper is now in scaling mode, looking to move into their next phase of growth where their main challenge will be to maintain quality and trust as their network of shepherds and customers continues to grow.
