Role
Who you are
- At least 4+ years of experience as SRE, DevOps, and Infra Backend in a SaaS environment
- At least 4+ years of experience with Coding languages - Python/JavaScript/Bash, or similar
- At least 3+ years of experience with Alerting & Monitoring systems such as DataDog Coralogix / Splunk / New Relic / Prometheus
- At least 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab, Github Actions, CircleCI or similar
- Experience working with Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond
- Cloud systems such as AWS / Google Cloud / Azure
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Configuration management such as Ansible/Chef/Puppet/ArgoCD
- High Analytical & Troubleshooting skills - ability to solve complex problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- You are curious, self-motivated, easy to work with, responsible and production aware
Desirable
- Previous experience in the blockchain ecosystem - big advantage
What the job involves
- As an Operations Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Fireblock blockchain infrastructure
- You’ll own Fireblocks production Blockchains RPC Nodes infrastructure over AWS, implement and build sustainable, scalable, and secure solutions with goals of improving availability and performance
- You’ll build strong partnerships with blockchain foundations, vendors, and customers, working together to address challenges, implement solutions, and ensure the smooth and reliable operation of our systems
- You’ll dive deep into blockchain protocols, identify optimization opportunities, resolve issues, and improve infrastructure and monitoring
- You’ll help identify root causes for incidents and prevent them from happening again
- Solve and orchestrate outages by working with multiple teams
- You’ll drive operational excellence and enable the seamless integration of new blockchains that contribute directly to Fireblocks ARR growth
Our take
The derivatives market has always been attractive for larger investors, but one of the biggest hurdles they needed to overcome has to do with capital efficiency, custody and security. Fireblocks allows for the trading of derivatives on any asset, using any form of collateral while receiving cross-margin benefits across counterparties. Essentially, it enables institutional traders to move digital assets without the operational or security headache.
By trying to make digital asset trading more secure, Fireblocks is banking on assets like cryptocurrencies becoming a new part of the mainstream trade of financial institutions. Cryptocurrencies are known for being notoriously unstable in their value but when traded properly, can be hugely profitable. Fireblocks believes that their cybersecurity services will make the industry seem safer and thereby make it more attractive to new participants.
In fact, Fireblocks are already on to something here. Now that cybersecurity standards have been boosted, a whole new crop of institutional entities has already set up shop in the crypto world. The more that follow suit, the more stable the market becomes - and the more potential clients Fireblocks can access. If Fireblocks can make digital assets both accessible and secure for mainstream traders, as they are doing through partnerships with the likes of CoinTrade, they have a huge potential market waiting to be tapped into.
