Who you are
- The ideal candidate for this role finds the challenge of staying ahead of the constantly evolving threat landscape exhilarating and fun, and is equally comfortable whiteboarding thorny technical decisions with engineering as you are running customer discovery or helping workshop the right story for a marketing launch
- Experience as a software engineer, and/or proven track record working as a PM on a highly technical product
- Excitement or experience working on security, fraud, identity or risk
- Prior experience at an early/mid stage B2B startup
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Exceptional written and verbal communication of technical concepts for a range of audiences
- Strong root-cause and systems thinking
What the job involves
- As the Product Manager owning our Fraud & Security products you’ll work closely with our Labs team, a small group of engineers who are responsible for creating industry-leading device intelligence and threat detection and prevention advancements and turning moonshot R&D ideas into products that have proven to be unparalleled at blocking sophisticated, motivated attackers at scale
- You’ll collaborate closely with the engineering team to identify new opportunities to strengthen the robustness and security of our platform and stay ahead of evolving hacking techniques, own research and discovery of customer pain points, and define elegant solutions that keep our customers and their end users safe, without compromising on UX or DevExp

- Technical — design and drive execution on products that keep customers and end users safe, and ensure that customers feel confident trusting Stytch with their traffic
- Ownership — advocate for projects and solutions that you believe will help customers and drive Stytch’s business forward and bring them to market
- Leadership — level up your teammates by providing mentorship and guidance
Our take
Passwords don’t typically offer the levels of security they once did, and we need more of them than ever - leading to poor security practices and a huge volume of subsequent data breaches. Some startups have emerged to help manage them; Stytch, however, is part of a growing cohort looking to cut them out entirely.
The idea is to make navigating digital space frictionless. To this end, Stytch has developed an out-of-the-box, easy-to-deploy version of about a dozen passwordless authentication solutions. It has seen a sharper increase in users and funding than rival startups like Magic, which it puts down to an API-first product, which is less limiting in its application than the widgets we’ve seen developed by earlier entrants to the space.
That alone, however, won’t be enough to push it ahead of other highly successful innovators in the space. Transmit Security has received record-breaking backing for its biometrics-led approach. This goes to show how far the market is betting on a passwordless future, and whilst Stytch’s line of attack is successful, it will nevertheless need to remain sharp in its development of new solutions.
