Role
Who you are
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Experience with AR, AP, and sales tax filings
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct) and Excel/Google Sheets. Experience with Ramp, Stripe, Deel and sales tax collection platforms is also a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
What the job involves
- Reports to: Controller
- We are seeking a GL Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will report directly to the Controller and will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records
- You will handle general ledger accounting, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and sales tax reporting while helping to improve processes as we scale
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and adjustments
- Assist with preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to building scalable systems
- Support ad-hoc financial projects and implementation of new accounting software
- Manage AR including customer invoicing and collections follow-up
- Post customer payments and maintain an up-to-date AR aging report
- Oversee the AP process including verifying invoices, processing payments and managing vendor relationships
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and manage vendor data collection and relationships
- Implement and maintain AP policies to improve the automation of processing transactions while maintaining accuracy of AP data
- Prepare sales tax filings across multiple states, ensuring compliance and timely submissions
- Work with the billing and sales teams to obtain exemption certificates and reseller agreements for large customers
- Assist with resolving sales and use tax notices as needed
