Who you are

  • You have 10+ years experience working in a fast growth tech consumer business, ideally having exposure in a Product Operations or Operations Management role
  • You have cross-functional collaboration exposure, working across multiple teams like Product, Marketing, Growth, Public Policy, Legal, Customer Support bringing impact at multi country level
  • You have demonstrated people leadership and organizational experience
  • You have experience managing large scale cross functional projects and P&L management experience is a huge plus
  • You have excellent analytical skills
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment, easily overcoming obstacles and quickly adapting to changes

What the job involves

  • Our driver partners are the bedrock of our business. The Head of Driver Operations is responsible for ensuring we scale the number of drivers on our platform and that we consistently provide them with the best earnings and experience in the industry
  • Strategy & Execution: Define and drive strategy for driver acquisition, engagement, and retention; identify new acquisition channels; implement engagement tools across local operations
  • Driver Experience & Quality: Improve driver experience through operational or product enhancements; address key quality issues affecting customer experience with cross-functional initiatives
  • Operational Efficiency & Automation: Design processes, tools, and automation to enhance efficiency, boost driver conversion, and reduce costs
  • Analytics & Insights: Collaborate with the Central Ops Analytics team to analyze the driver base, optimize reporting, and identify growth opportunities
  • Stakeholder & Team Leadership: Work closely with country, product, growth, and marketing teams; manage and develop a high-performing team of 8-10 members
  • Global Impact & Special Projects: Drive initiatives affecting 50+ countries and 500+ cities; contribute to broader Bolt-level projects and strategic assignments

Our take

Bolt is another company in the competitive ride-sharing market that's trying to take market share away from Uber in London and Europe more broadly. They operate in 100 cities and have over 25 million customers

Their strategy is to focus on markets where Uber used to have a monopoly and then they come in with a better offering for drivers

Bolt has the ability to grow aggressively for now as they're well financed. They face a similar to challenge to Uber in that no company in this space has established a profitable business model that isn't propped up by investors with deep pockets. Creating a sustainable model that's better for drivers than Uber is the way Bolt can win
