- 6+ years in Engineering Leadership: Proven experience in an engineering leadership role, managing teams and driving complex technical initiatives
- IPaaS/Integration Leadership: Substantial experience leading engineering teams building integration tools, shipping high-quality products under rapid development cycles
- 12+ years building and delivering software products, cloud services
- Experience with AI Integration (Preferred): Familiarity with integrating AI capabilities into developer products e.g. LLM based code generation for specific domains and DSLs
- A related technical degree required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Critical eye for product design, well-versed in good design principles especially around integration/API applications
- Ability to adapt and handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Expert experience with Agile development methodologies, certified scrum master preferred
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Engineering, MuleSoft to lead our MuleSoft Developer Experience Tools team and deliver cutting-edge AI-powered features and products on our integration platform
- This leader will leverage advanced AI methods — including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic frameworks — to build transformative developer experiences that delight customers and drive business value
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of 35–40 individuals, including 2–3 engineering managers, ensuring alignment, performance, and team cohesion
- Team Building & Talent Growth: Recruit, mentor, and retain top mobile engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development
- AI-Driven Developer Strategy: Define and own the technical vision for MuleSoft developer experience products in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Innovative Product Delivery: Oversee design, development, and on-time delivery of impactful mobile features, balancing rapid iteration with long-term investments
- Operational & Technical Excellence: Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability through best practices, monitoring, and hands-on technical guidance
- Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive collaboration across teams, translating technical goals for leadership and influencing long-term AI investments
- Drive scalable and extensible architecture and good hygiene practices
- Work closely with Support and key customers on production issues
