- 3+ years experience as a data analyst or another relevant role
- Proven theoretical knowledge and application of advanced analytics and statistics to real-world or business problems that derive actionable insights and recommendations
- Proficiency in SQL, data visualisation (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, analytical tools and/or relevant programming languages (Python preferred)
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in delivery or logistics companies is a benefit, but not essential
What the job involves
- We are investing heavily in our data team, and are looking for a motivated (mid-level to senior-level) Business Intelligence Analyst to work closely with business leaders to provide actionable insights and strategic guidance, to accelerate our growth, create efficiencies and maximise our profits
- Work closely with operational teams to inform, automate and optimise decision making, using data and advanced analytics & statistics to inform the strategic direction of the team and company
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to support the maintenance, and guide the development of key data products used in the business (e.g. forecasts, optimisation algorithms, predictive models)
- Design experiments and measure the impact of process changes
- Provide structure and challenge to core business problems
- Develop and maintain dashboards for key operations enabling daily monitoring and diagnostics
- Design and implement descriptive data products that enable targeted action
- Work alongside our engineering team to surface accurate and well-structured data to enable your analysis and reporting
- Define best practices in analytics, data visualisation and dashboarding, joining the data team in educating Relay’s ‘citizen data analysts’ to ensure rigour across the company
- Get hands on! You will see the results of your analysis in action by spending time at our sortation warehouse and delivering parcels

In recent years, e-commerce has grown considerably. Despite this, the retail sector is still in the early innings of digital disruption in the US and the UK (especially when compared to more digitally mature markets such as China).
Relay enables e-commerce through re-wiring the critical delivery infrastructure to address the growth of e-commerce in the UK. Not only do they enable orders of magnitude better delivery in speed and cost for retailers and consumers, but they are also doubling down on making sure their ecosystem of delivery drivers and the planet benefit.
