- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial transactions, preferably in-house at a SaaS or technology company
- Strong negotiation skills with a practical, business-friendly approach to problem-solving
- Knowledge of global privacy regulations such as GDPR and experience reviewing data protection language is a huge plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
What the job involves
- Kentik is seeking a highly skilled and business-minded Commercial Counsel to support our go-to-market organization and growing customer base
- In this role, you will partner closely with our Sales, Finance, and Customer Success teams to negotiate and manage commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with Kentik’s business objectives while mitigating risk
- This role will report directly to the CFO
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to the GTM functions
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial contracts, including MSAs, Professional Services agreements, NDAs, and other customer-facing agreements
- Partner with sales and customer success teams to facilitate contract negotiations and ensure smooth deal flow
- Develop and implement scalable processes and templates to drive efficiency in contract management and legal operations
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters related to customer agreements, including data privacy, security, and regulatory considerations
- Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure agreements align with company policies and revenue recognition requirements
- Monitor evolving legal and regulatory trends in the SaaS industry and proactively recommend updates to contractual terms and business practices
- Engage with and manage international legal partners when we need third party legal support in non-US jurisdictions
Our take
The rise in internet use has resulted in an often unmanageable amount of network traffic across websites, data centers, and most recently cloud services. The resulting mass of information from this is problematic to interpret and thus difficult to use for troubleshooting and engagement insights.
Kentik provides an integrated network monitoring dashboard for enterprises that helps provide visual data illustrations and insights based on traffic. This allows administrators to identify bottlenecks in their networks, whilst providing opportunities to provide cyber protection and monitor customer experiences.
The Kentik dashboard’s approach to network management is unique due to its focus on the visualization of information. This allows insights regarding network limitations and bottlenecks to be understandable and manageable to enterprises regardless of whether staff has knowledge in networking data.
