Who you are
- Be familiar with and understand in country Health & Safety related legislative requirements
- Experience of working to legislative, industry accreditations and set company standards
- Experience of working with various teams to achieve set targets or goals
- Experience of carrying out and facilitating audits of compliance and procedural activities (internal and external)
- Understand the key principals of facilities management (legislative compliance, PPM & PMC programmes) Support, Documents and management reports
- Manage interaction with multiple departments and 3rd party contractors
- Competent with Microsoft Office Packages
- Outstanding Organisational Skills

- Maintaining accreditation standards (i.e. ISO, BRC)
- Track KPI’s and provide updates for site management team
- Striving for continuous personal development
- Track KPIs for supplier and contractor performance including the management of Planned Preventative Maintenance activities
- Be familiar with the legislation pertaining to the management of suppliers carrying out maintenance and other activities related to property infrastructures
- Monitoring the PPM for the sites
- Completing audits and health checks demonstrating due diligence, finding potential risks and engaging accountable Lead Managers to fix them
What the job involves
- The Compliance Officer ensures organisational functions follow all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
- Responsible for organisation and implementation of compliance audits
- Performs or manages daily compliance risk identification, inspection and reporting. The Compliance Officer develops and implements preventative measures and internal controls
- The Compliance Officer will assist the management team by keeping compliance on the governance agenda and supporting to maintain adherence to:
- Legal compliance
- Company Health & Safety policies, processes and standards
- Any acquired industry accreditations (i.e. ISO, BRC etc.)
- Compliance with Food Safety Standards across Maersk Quantum Business Park sites
- Health & Safety training requirements including delivering training where appropriate and required
- Contractor Control processes across Maersk Quantum Business Park sites
- Lead onsite facilities

Our take
Maersk is a Copenhagen-based integrated container logistics company. Originally known for its fleet of enormous ships, the company is now active in ocean and inland freight transformation and related services, including supply chain management and port operation.
Until 2022, it was the largest shipping line by container capacity, before being unseated by Mediterranean Shipping Company. This can be accounted to the recent, strategic decision to change course, shifting its focus away from shipping and toward associated but more profitable services, including air freight, trucking, and selling logistics software. This places Maersk in an exciting position for potential growth. It is now reinventing itself as a one-stop shop for every step of the supply chain.
Another key aspect of this transformation is to become net-zero by 2040. The company has a more immediate goal to ensure 30% of ocean journeys will be powered using sustainable fuels. Maersk’s decarbonisation efforts not only ensure a greener future, but a more competitive one for global trade.
