Who you are
- To be right for this role, you should have a strong track-record of delivering leading edge digital product design with strong appreciation of creative and brand strategy, as well as 5+ years’ experience directly managing a team of designers
- You have proven experience (5+ years) in a leadership position with people management and development responsibilities where you have yourself been on a growth journey
- You are a visionary and creative design professional who cares about all aspects of the user experience
- You are comfortable working within and leading a team through situations of high ambiguity with competing priorities
- You are action-oriented and can help others to break big challenges down into manageable and actionable pieces
- You are passionate about product design and its role in providing users with life-enriching product experiences
- You have experience creating and evolving design systems in a way that facilitates and enhances product design and development without being overly bureaucratic
What the job involves
- The Head of Product Design will be the champion and leader of the newly formed product design team.
- A highly creative and conceptual thinker, you will lead your team in crafting a beautiful in-app experience that embodies the Feeld brand across all touch points.
- You’ll sweat over the data and details to truly influence member behavior on the app to ensure we achieve business goals
- Create a vision and roadmap for bringing the brand mission and visual style to life across the entire product experience
- Set and uphold the quality bar for Product Design across all Feeld products, in-line with brand strategy, brand identity and brand values
- Lead and support the product designers as their People Coach offering day-to-day direction, guidance, mentoring and coaching to enable them to do their best work and achieve their individual developmental goals
- Define and maintain Product Design principles and ways of working that are in-line with the wider Product Circle principles and ways of working to ensure a Product Design practice that is scaleable and future proof
- Work closely with analytics and user research to define and lead discovery and ideation processes across all product teams right through to testing and iteration
- Be a thought-partner to the VP of Product, inputting into Product strategy and tactical initiatives by demonstrating ability to make sound design decisions that uphold design quality and customer experience whilst staying accountable to business needs and goals
- Manage the team to consistently deliver tested, validated and ready-to-build designs that delight the community and address business goals
- Frequently demonstrate hands-on product design skills where required, whether working together with the team or independently, to achieve responsibilities at the quality required

- Your second conversation will connect you directly with the line manager for the role you’re applying to. Here, you’ll have a chance to ask more questions about the work you’ll be doing. This conversation will also focus on your past work experiences
- Your third conversation allows you the opportunity to meet the team members you might be working with on a daily basis. Here, you’ll be able to ask questions about team processes, workflow, and the employee experience at Feeld
- Your final conversation will be with the hiring owner for this role, and a leader from our Creative team. This conversation is forward facing, with a focus on working relationships and vision for the future of Product Design at Feeld
- We generally make an offer within 2 weeks of our final call, and offer a flexible start date that can begin as early as the next Monday after you sign our offer documentation
- Of note: all of our interviews are conducted remotely, and our interviewers will work with you to find an agreeable interview time based on mutual availability
Our take
If you're looking for any kind of unconventional connection on a dating app, you might recognise the feeling of burnout. Major apps cater mostly to heteronormative ideals, where monogamy, long term relationships and marriage are the ideal, or else are designed solely for hookups. Feeld is a dating app for people who are looking for something else.
Feeld was launched quietly in 2014 and has steadily grown, exploding in popularity only recently as part (and possibly a driver) of a revolution of sorts, where people have begun to feel a lot more free about exploring sex, kink and non-monogamy. In the dating app landscape, it is still a relatively small and young player, raking in a fairly small proportion of a market estimated at about $8 billion in 2022. However, it faces little direct competition in its niche, is wildly popular with its user base, and has a lot of room to grow as sexual attitudes continue to change.
Feeld's CEO, Ana Kirova, was the inspiration for the startup (part of its appeal is its lovely origin story). She continues to build on the company's foundations of inclusivity, as Feeld looks to continue to invest in the user experience of the app and broaden its user base.
