Who you are
- Curious mind: You're studying Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar and want to experience how backend systems power real energy products. Not just theory, but building, shipping, going live
- Self-starter: You don't wait for the perfect ticket. When you see a problem, you suggest a fix. You use AI tools and modern workflows to work faster and better
- Team thinker: You don't just write code that works, you write code that others can understand and build on. Documentation and clean handoffs are second nature to you
- Communicator: You work confidently in English, ideally with some German skills and actively participate in code reviews and discussions
- Technical requirements: Solid programming skills (C# preferred, alternatively Python or Java), basic understanding of APIs, databases and system architecture, comfortable working with Git

What the job involves
- Charging EVs, controlling heat pumps, reading smart meters, optimizing real-time consumption: behind everything RABOT makes visible to customers sits a platform that connects hardware, data and software. This platform grows with every new device, every new partner and every new feature
- You work on this platform as part of our engineering team. Backend, APIs, integrations, internal tools. Which area exactly depends on your strengths and interests. What's certain: your code doesn't run in an exercise, it runs in systems used by thousands of customers
- Month 1 (Ramp-up)
- You understand our platform architecture and development processes well enough to independently ship your first features, bugfixes or API improvements to the live system

- You regularly deliver code that runs in our live systems and creates real impact

Our take
To support the transition to renewable energy, Rabot Charge supplies AI-powered dynamic tariffs that enable consumers to use electricity when it is its cheapest. This is more environmentally friendly because it also corresponds to when more solar and wind power is available.
The company enables this because it buys electricity at short notice via the day-ahead and intraday energy markets, allowing it to make use of hourly price fluctuations. Rabot's customer can power large appliances or charge their electric vehicles when prices are at their lowest, thus saving them money on their energy bill. This also means that more households can access renewable power without major changes to their energy usage habits.
Although it is not the only company delivering dynamic pricing for electricity, Rabot Charge has seen consistent investment over the years which suggests it is doing something right. The 2025 influx, led by Bosch, will support the further development of its algorithm to enhance its ability to find the best prices.
