Who you are
- You hold an university degree, with +5 years of experience in sales, business development or partnerships
- You command German at professional level and have excellent communication skills in both English and German
- You have a proven track record of successfully closing enterprise deals
- You are passionate to work with people and effectively communicate, influence and persuade with different levels of stakeholders (including senior counterparts) combined with strong commercial acumen
- You are resilient, learning from setbacks without losing momentum
- You’re a structured, analytical problem-solver who takes decisive action when needed
- You learn quickly and understand complex business operations, enabling you to guide conversations that involve technical aspects
- Experience with marketplace and/or retail businesses is a plus
What the job involves
- As a Strategic Sales Manager (f/m/x) in our Supply Department, you will be the face of Refurbed to key players in the consumer electronics market, in charge of building long term partnerships with top brands and distributors across different categories and markets
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic players in the consumer electronics sector
- Lead the full sales cycle independently—from initial outreach and building the business case to negotiating contracts and closing deals
- Act as problem-solver for prospects’ needs and working with internal stakeholders to formulate solutions for them
- Guide sellers through marketplace processes to ensure smooth onboarding, working closely with internal teams to support seamless implementation
- Ensure smooth handover of signed deals to the account management team, providing clear visibility on opportunities and risks
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences to network and establish new partnerships
- You will join a small, motivated and dynamic team that works very independently and hands-on
Our take
Buying refurbished electronics can be a fantastic way to give a device a second life whilst saving a bit of cash, but many people are skeptical of doing so. Such items are often sold through illegitimate channels and there is no guarantee that the device will work for long, resulting in people avoiding refurbished goods.
Refurbed provides a refurbished electronics marketplace which is challenging this. They allow users to browse and purchase refurbished devices that come with a minimum of 12 months warranty.
The platform operates based on a monthly subscription fee, and whilst this will present a challenge when alternative marketplaces are free to use, the company has recognised that consumers are happy to pay for quality and warranty. Through its marketplace, the company aims to increase the prevalence of refurbished device purchases, helping to reduce waste and carbon footprints and help consumers save money in the process. 2023 funding is being used to expand the product offerings on Refurbed's circular economy platform.
