Software Engineer, Dexter

• Experience: 3+ years in a software engineering role, with strong hands-on experience in Python
• Mindset: Result-driven, proactive, energetic
• Curiosity: Genuinely interested in the world of (short-term) energy trading or financial markets
• Solid Python engineering (data ecosystem knowledge a must)
• Able to independently deliver production-grade software

• We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Trade Optimization team
• You'll team up with our Quantitative Trading Analysts (QTAs) and fellow Software Engineers to build, operate, and maintain the systems that run our non-asset backed trading strategies in the day-ahead and intraday power markets
• Turn trading strategies developed by QTAs into reliable, maintainable production software
• Build and maintain configuration logic that translates customer needs into product behavior
• Develop and improve monitoring and quality assurance components to safeguard trading performance and PnL
• Engineer and support tools for backtesting trading strategies
• Refactor and continuously improve the codebase for performance, clarity, and resilience
• Work on data engineering tasks to make trading data available for analytics (e.g., product monitoring, invoicing)
• Build and maintain risk control components (e.g., dynamically adjusting exposure based on risk metrics)
• This role is all about software engineering and system-building, not machine learning or MLOps. But that doesn't mean a narrow scope
• You'll be deeply embedded in the same team as our QTAs, working closely with them on trading strategies and risk management logic
• While you won’t be primarily responsible for designing the algorithms, you’ll be in the loop during research and fully own bringing those strategies to life in production. That means real exposure to algorithmic trading and quant finance, and a strong incentive to understand the logic behind what you're shipping
