Who you are

If you enjoy working on C++ and observability solutions, you will be right at home on our growing Engine team
At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, particularly within complex C++ codebases and challenging problems
Expertise in observability concepts, which includes metrics, traces, and logging
Experience with Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, ElasticSearch a plus

What the job involves

As a Senior Software Engineer on Engine Telemetry, you will be designing, implementing, and optimizing telemetry solutions that capture, process, and analyze real-time data from millions of players worldwide
Collaborate with engineering and product management (PM) leadership to realize the goal of optimizing the usability and precision of our telemetry solution
Develop engine code that performs well for all user-created games on the Roblox platform
Work on every application Roblox develops, from mobile phone clients to cloud-based servers

In addition to standard games, the platform offers virtual worlds and other experiences to explore and interact with. Its platform provides an online ecosystem for millions to create, socialize, chat, and explore immersive experiences with friends. In fact, in the US its used by two-thirds of children aged 9 to 12.

The experiences on the platform are made by Roblox's over three million creators, and are available on a range of devices from PC to Xbox to Oculus, and more. The company has grown at an impressive rate, and has been keen to adopt new developments in the tech world, for example with its real-time AI translation for players to interact outside their native tongue.
