Role

Who you are

  • 2+ years of experience in consulting, business operations, people operations, recruiting, or talent
  • Background in technical recruiting for startup environments or high-growth companies
  • Strong understanding of technical roles and the ability to assess technical skills (understanding of programming languages, engineering principles, etc.)
  • Familiarity with various sourcing techniques, including Boolean search, social media recruiting, and networking
  • Experience with candidate assessment tools and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Experience managing the full recruitment cycle, from job requisition through offer negotiation and closing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers
  • Passionate about tech and startup culture, with a drive to help build great teams
  • A self-starter with experience taking projects from 0-1 with little oversight and ability to articulate the why's and how's in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

What the job involves

  • In order to continue growing our world-class team, we’re looking for a Technical Recruiter who will lead the charge in identifying, evaluating, and hiring high-quality technical candidates across engineering and technical disciplines
  • You will collaborate with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, develop tailored recruitment strategies, and create a seamless, positive candidate experience
  • Your work will directly impact the quality of talent we bring on board and help accelerate the development of our product
  • This individual should think of hiring like a product, optimizing for a top-notch “customer” experience that sources, attracts, and develops the best talent across the globe while also optimizing internal processes by implementing the latest AI-powered tools and systems
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand team needs and technical skill requirements
  • Develop and execute tailored sourcing strategies to attract high-quality engineering candidates (software engineers, data scientists, DevOps, etc.)
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting process, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, offer negotiations, and onboarding
  • Utilize a variety of sourcing tools (LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, niche job boards, etc.) to find top talent
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs
  • Conduct in-depth technical screenings (phone screens and in-person/virtual interviews) to assess candidates’ technical skills and cultural fit
  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience, guiding them through the process and maintaining regular communication
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding processes for new hires
  • Manage recruitment metrics, analyze data, and continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and candidate quality
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in recruiting and the tech industry

The last decade has seen a major uptick in the number of startups and companies dedicated to supporting consumers to build good health habits, typically around food and fitness. That enthusiasm is now quite rightly being extended to how we sleep.

Eight Sleep makes “smart” mattresses and mattress covers (for regular mattresses) that use machine learning and other artificial intelligence-based algorithms to improve your sleep both by changing temperature and monitoring other physical parameters to provide an overall picture of your health.

The company is focused on two levers for growth. First, building out more technology through additional products and acquisitions, exemplified by the introduction of Span Health’s fitness-tracking app. Secondly, international expansion in Europe, where it has got off to an impressive start in the UK.
