Role
Who you are
- University degree in Law
- 5+ years of hands-on diversified experience relevant to the key responsibilities, including in handling claims and disputes in and out of court
- Qualified to practice in UK, US or CY or other jurisdiction of interest
- Experience in managing and handling claims and disputes in foreign jurisdictions/internationally is a must
- Experience in house as a litigator is highly desired
- Excellent relationship and negotiation skills, being able to deal confidently and professionally
- Excellent research and analysis skills
- Able to analyze and present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders and non-legal professionals. Ability to provide actionable advice, solutions and strategies
- Self-starter able to work with minimum supervision
- Able to meet deadlines and comfortable with changing requirements and priorities
- Legal and business-friendly judgment, skilled in building consensus across cross-functional stakeholders and management
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent English is a must. Other languages (GR, RU) will be considered an advantage
What the job involves
- The post holder will manage and deal with a range of commercial and civil disputes and claims, as well as criminal cases as the case may be, in all jurisdictions of Unlimit’s interests
- Represent and protect Unlimit’s rights and interests (including of its affiliates, stakeholders, management and employees as the case may be) before competent authorities and government bodies, self-regulated and non-government bodies, law enforcement and prosecution authorities, arbitration and courts
- Handle a varied caseload of civil, commercial and criminal cases, disputes and claims both as a claimant and defendant
- Handle both out-of-court and court disputes and claims
- Negotiate settlements
- Plan, structure and implement efficient case handling strategies
- Collaborate and liaise with external service providers, experts, counsels, legal practitioners, law enforcement bodies, government and judicial bodies where appropriate
- Manage disputes and litigation operations globally
- Research and advise on legal and relevant compliance issues in various jurisdictions
- Identify applicable requirements and ensure compliance with them
- Draft, prepare, review and negotiate various documents such as applications, agreements, resolutions, letters, explanations, memos, etc
- Liaise with and assist other competent internal functions within Unlimit in the performance of their duties
- Manage local and cross-regional work
- Develop budgets for assigned tasks where necessary
