Role
Who you are
- 2-4 years of Java development experience
- Experience with Java build tools like Maven or Gradle
- Solid understanding of networking principles and server administration, specifically Windows Server and Linux
- Proficient in cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure
- Strong working knowledge of popular DevOps tools and services such as Jenkins, Docker, Artifactory/Nexus, Kubernetes
- Technical experience with a variety of databases including, but not limited to: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Snowflake
- Experience with source control (such as Git & GitHub) and shell scripting
- The ability to build knowledge of new technologies easily
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to build trust while managing critical issues for high-profile customers and maintaining empathy, integrity, and attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills, including managing customer expectations, and moderating customer calls
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as exemplified by clear bug/issue explanations, documentation of knowledge, mentoring ability, and comfort interacting with all levels of management
- Be located in CST/EST or willing to work in those time zones
- Experience using Liquibase or Liquibase Fundamentals Certification
Desirable
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting at least two of the following:
- Load Balancing Technology
- SAML and OIDC Identity Protocols
- X.509 and general certificate management processes
- LDAP, Kerberos authentication protocols, and Active Directory architecture
- Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts and practices
What the job involves
- Using your technical skills and Java development background to identify, resolve, and manage high-priority, time-sensitive issues for our customers with timely updates while striving to improve overall customer satisfaction
- Communicate with customers through a ticketing system, with phone calls and screen sharing
- Root cause isolation and development of product fixes
- Updating and creating documentation, knowledge base articles, and training materials to improve the customer experience
- Collaborating cross-functionally with other teams to troubleshoot issues
- Contribute code changes for bug fixes as needed
- Work a weekend on-call rotation every 4-8 weeks
- 1+ years experience generating new SaaS sales
- Knowledge of online video, livestreaming, analytics, and technology companies
- Proven sales foundation built through sales training and practical experience
- Strong verbal and written communication, time management, organizational as well as presentation skills

Our take
Application code can be developed quite swiftly, but the database code underlying it is often a major bottleneck. The need to make manual changes to databases slows down development and introduces the risk of human error into the process. Liquibase was created to automate database schema updates, eliminating wasted time and making databases safer and more secure in the process.
There are other database change management tools on the market (for instance, Flyway). Still, Liquibase stands out in its flexibility, supporting XML, JSON, and YAML languages for defining database changes, in addition to the industry-standard SQL, and in its ability to work with both NoSQL and relational database types.
