Who you are
- Strong QA Fundamentals - Deep understanding of testing methodologies, automation, and defect management
- Microservices & Monolith Testing Expertise - Experience in validating APIs, integrations, and system behavior
- Proficiency in any automation framework - Hands-on experience in writing and maintaining automation tests using at least one object-oriented testing framework
- CI/CD & Deployment Awareness - Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into workflows
- Effective Communication & Collaboration - Ability to work across multiple squads, prioritize tasks, and drive quality initiatives
- User-Centric Mindset - Ensure common user journeys are seamless, intuitive, and free of critical issues
- Strong grasp of SDLC & STLC - Familiarity with DevOps principles and best practices in software development and testing lifecycles
- Mobile Testing Experience - Hands-on experience testing applications on iOS and Android
- Debugging & Troubleshooting - Proficiency in Charles or similar debugging tools for network and API testing
- Someone with a genuine interest in Chip and is excited about being part of a fast-growing company and our mission to build the investment super app of the future

What the job involves
- We are looking for a very talented and dedicated Associate Backend QA Engineer to help us build out a world-beating feature set
- Joining our engineering team, you’ll be responsible for testing new front-end, rest-api backend features and microservices manually; as required and identified at the planning sessions to help us continue to deliver a great product to our customers which helps our company and their money grow
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team - Work closely with Backend and Frontend Engineers, developers, and other specialists to maintain a quality-first mindset
- Defining and executing test strategies - Identify test scenarios, create detailed test cases, and document results effectively
- Championing quality - Be the QA evangelist, promoting best practices within and beyond your team
- Driving test automation - Contribute to a shift-left approach by building automation journeys using an OOP-based framework
- Exploring performance testing - Learn and develop performance testing strategies to ensure system efficiency
- Owning test estimation & reporting - Accurately estimate testing efforts, track progress, report status, and escalate issues when necessary
- Enhancing CI/CD visibility - Integrate automated tests into CI tooling (GitLab) and generate reports for better visibility
- Managing defects proactively - Document software faults and work closely with developers until release readiness
- Executing manual testing - Perform detailed exploratory and functional manual testing using industry-standard techniques
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Start your weekend early!)
