Role
Who you are
- This position is ideal for a seasoned Finance professional who excels in big-picture strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and process optimization
- A Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant field
- 8+ years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a management role
- Deep understanding of fintech and/or financial services business
- Experience building and managing Finance team
- Desire for a fast-paced, hands on, entrepreneurial environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
What the job involves
- As a senior leader reporting directly to the CFO, you will drive high-impact projects that impact the whole of Flex
- You will be directly leading the Strategic Finance team, a centralized group of business experts who own financial predictability, drive ROI maximization and serve as connective tissue between internal business operations, external perspectives and key strategic decisioning
- This involves both direct ownership, as well as indirect influence to drive decisions that affect the long term trajectory of our business
- Lead, grow and optimize our strategic finance team with high degrees of analytical rigor, cross-functional collaboration and a broad skill set combining finance, data, and strategy
- Collaborate with company and functional leadership to analyze complex business decisions and provide thought partnership through a financial lens
- Create and operate key financial forecasting tools and operating models, partnering with teams across the business to maximize predictability
- Develop, deliver, and maintain insightful reporting on KPIs, growth trends and operational metrics to key internal and external stakeholders
- Create and own the financial planning and budgeting lifecycle, working to shape the financial trajectory of the business and connect operating goals to financial targets
- Identify and execute opportunities to maximize ROI throughout the organization and drive sustainable growth
- Support the Board and Executive team on ad hoc strategy and financial analyses, such as new product launches, expansions, operational changes and M&A opportunities
- Implement new processes, tools, and systems to improve forecasting and reporting accuracy and efficiency
- Support fundraising, capital markets and investor relations activities
Our take
Many people struggle to pay their rent every month, with a variety of bills hitting their bank accounts simultaneously. Whilst many of these people earn enough money to cover their bills, the inflexible nature of monthly bills can make the all-in-one payment a harder obstacle.
Flex provides a mobile application for the flexible payment of rent, allowing users to pay their landlords through flexible payment plans, reschedule payments when necessary, and protect their funds through Overdraft Protection. The company achieves this by partnering with estate agents and paying their resident's bills upfront, taking on the challenges that landlords would normally have due to late payments.
Flex has experienced extremely rapid growth since its founding which has caused some issues, as it struggled to keep up with the surge in new customers. Having made improvements to its product and scaled its customer service team, it is set to continue providing a service that has come to be highly valued by both tenants and landlords.
