Role
Who you are
- You have closed B2B deals before, ideally in SaaS and with SMBs, though it’s not mandatory
- You have experience in generating and managing an outbound pipeline
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You are resilient—sales is challenging, especially in an early-stage company where everything needs to be built!
- You’re interested in AI advancements and eager to contribute to its real-world business applications
- You’re excited to join an early-stage project, help shape a GTM strategy, and get your hands dirty scaling it up
- You’re curious and love exploring new areas (you might even grow to enjoy tenders!)
- This position focuses on selling to the French market with French-speaking prospects. We are exclusively looking for fluent French speakers
What the job involves
- At Tengo, we have ambitious sales targets for the next 18 months. We’re looking for a new Sales 360° profile to target public bidders : over 40k companies across all sectors. Some of our early clients include Theodo, Carrefour, OpenClassrooms, Rexel … and many SMBs across France
- You will work closely with our CEO Hugues
- Reaching and closing new clients to help them win more public tenders
- Structure our sales process (iterate on the sales play, improve CRM, routines…)
- Do “things that don’t scale” to support Tengo’s development (ex : explore & tests new ways to reach prospect and sales Tengo…)
- Hunt and qualify prospects based on marketing generated leads (mainly Outbound, we’re doing team cold call sessions)
- Prepare and run demos
- Manage your deal flow and keep the CRM updated
- Design and implement experiments to improve lead generation and sales strategies
- Participate in the weekly routines of the Sales team (Kick-off, Retro…) and own side projects to support team growth
- Engage in the daily life of an early-stage startup focused on one thing: building an ambitious product

- Use case (at home) & debrief meeting (on site) with Hugues + someone from the team (1h)
- Interview with Yoann, CTO (45 min) and meet the team (20 min)

Our take
French startup Tengo has built a platform that helps businesses identify, analyse and respond to public tenders. Public tenders are especially important in France, with more than 40,000 companies a year pitching for public service contracts. The French government spends half a billion euros a day on these contracts, meaning that quick and effective response processes are a real draw for companies.
With AI at its core, Tengo helps speed up the public tender response process, centralising all stages of the tender process. Ultimately, Tengo will live or die on the effect it has on its clients. So far its customers have secured 35 million euros in public contracts, impressive for such a young company. This success has been supported by seed funding that will go towards enhancing its AI capabilities.
