Who you are
- Proven experience as a leader who has led successful engineering teams building new features
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to break down complex problems into component parts, and the project management skills to then drive the project to completion
- Long-term thinking mindset and know how to take a few shortcuts to launch systems in a timely manner in order to get user feedback to make better long-term plans
- Experience in building consumer-facing applications
What the job involves
- You will lead the Sharing pod inside the User Connections team, creating the ability for Roblox users to capture and share content with each other across many surfaces and multiple media types
- You will work closely with the entire Connections team, as well as many other teams and groups around the company
- This team is building 0-1 features and requires extensive coordination with product manager, design, engineering, and data scientists
- Build and Lead: Attract, hire, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of exceptional engineers. Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone thrives
- Set the Bar: Establish and maintain a high standard for technical excellence. Ensure your team delivers reliable, scalable, and secure solutions that adhere to Roblox's engineering principles
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Plan Strategically: Contribute to the overall capture and sharing strategy. Find opportunities for innovation and growth, and prioritize projects that deliver the most value to our users
- Continuously Improve: Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within your team. Encourage experimentation, knowledge sharing, and adoption of new technologies

While online gaming is no longer a revolutionary concept, Roblox has established itself as a leader in the industry by creating a gaming toolbox that encourages quality game creation, which it pays developers for.
In addition to standard games, the platform offers virtual worlds and other experiences to explore and interact with. Its platform provides an online ecosystem for millions to create, socialize, chat, and explore immersive experiences with friends. In fact, in the US its used by two-thirds of children aged 9 to 12.
The experiences on the platform are made by Roblox's over three million creators, and are available on a range of devices from PC to Xbox to Oculus, and more. The company has grown at an impressive rate, and has been keen to adopt new developments in the tech world, for example with its real-time AI translation for players to interact outside their native tongue.
