A BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

What the job involves

Global Network (GNET) org is looking for an SDE 1 to join Remitly and help
Scale their funding and disbursement processing across their vast Operational regions
As an SDE 1, you will bring exciting new features to Our customers by contributing to the enhancement of our pay-in and pay-out Networks globally
You will help shape and build against a backlog of
Features designed to improve our Global Network powering all of Remitly's
Product offerings in creative ways
Will develop new, intelligent network management features for our pay-in and pay-out networks, with the possibility of working with partners from over 170 countries
Will deliver well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions
Will participate in interviewing, code reviewing, mentoring, and ramping new hires
Will partner with PM and Technical Lead to break down tasks, provide estimates, and discuss tradeoffs
Will partner with Operations team members across the globe to provide technical recommendations to customer-facing problems
Will become an expert with tools, programming languages, and engineering processes used within the GNET team in a scalable cloud-based architecture
Follow Software Development best practices, and push for technical excellence across the organization
Partner closely with your manager and promote the technical direction and roadmap

Since its inception in 2011 Remitly has focussed on helping immigrants to send money across the world faster, cheaper and easier. The company has grown exponentially since then and now operates across multiple continents. Remitly put down most of its success on putting its customers first.

The emergence of digital banks with low transaction fees cross-country has increased competition in a space where Remitly was dominant for many years. The company must continue to innovate its product to ensure it is the go-to place for these types of payments.

However, Remitly continues to partner with exciting companies and improve their service for loyal customers. The company is setting its sights beyond its core remittance service, such as through the recent introduction of Passbook, an app that allows customers to access digital banking through a partner bank.
