- The ideal candidate will have experience with and interest in overall system architecture, be an expert in backend design, and bring some hands-on experience in data engineering and DevOps

- Ideally, you have worked with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Terraform, Docker before and have an understanding of Data Orchestration, REST and Microservices

What the job involves
- As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our products and driving the development of scalable and robust backend/data systems
- The building blocks of our team/company backend stack are: Go, Python, Kotlin, MongoDB, Kafka, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, and Dagster
- Guide architectural discussions and contribute to the overall technical strategy of the team
- Lead by example: Take ownership of the topics you care about, ranging from the features you produce over the quality of our work to the environment we work in
- Responsible for improving and developing our RESTful web services and Data Platform
- Give and receive valuable feedback in our code review process and continuously learn and share knowledge with your peers
- Being open to feedback and taking ownership of your work is essential
- You work iteratively, frequently pushing code, maintaining an efficient CI/CD pipeline, and automating where possible
- Embrace "you build it, you run it": Take full ownership of your code beyond just pushing to the repository. This means monitoring deployments in production, building dashboards, configuring alerts, writing clear documentation, and owning your domain from the code all the way through to the Kubernetes namespace where it runs
Our take
Since launching in 2014, Staffbase has grown into a major name in the internal communications niche. Its platform is used by the likes of Samsung, ALDI, DHL, and Domino’s to create branded, mobile-first communication and information sharing tools which can access a company’s intranet from anywhere.
Staffbase has managed to set itself apart to some extent from the range of other internal communication apps like Slack and Teams by focusing on building a product tailored towards dedicated internal communication teams, rather than taking a more general approach.
This is proving to be a good decision as, with the shift to remote and hybrid working, the last few years have seen Staffbase gather serious momentum. A 2021 merger with Canadian competitor Banantang has been followed up by a series of major funding rounds and a rise to unicorn status. As well as this, it’s been expanding its own product portfolio through a number of strategic acquisitions as it looks to stay ahead of the competition.
