Who you are

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully designing and delivering automated solutions
  • Direct experience building products that require detailed and data-intensive reconciliations with disparate datasets, preferably in the financial sector
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, software systems, and financial processes, with experience in the blockchain sector
  • Experience driving and managing complex projects in accounting/finance across multiple teams, demonstrating exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills with aggressive schedules
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at conveying complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements and manual processes into actionable product plans focused on internal scale and automation

What the job involves

  • As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for identifying gaps within billing and revenue management and implementing automated solutions to support the organization’s growth as business scope, complexity, and regulatory oversight expand
  • You will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of Finance products and services, while also influencing the roadmap for other business lines, ensuring that the requirements of the finance and accounting departments are advocated for

  • Use knowledge in multiple technical areas, principles, and practices, and stay abreast of industry trends to find creative approaches to solutions
  • Demonstrate agility in adapting to circumstances, applying analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and proactively mitigate risks/issues
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for billing & revenue management systems, providing guidance and support to internal teams
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, the month-end close process, and financial statements
  • Clearly articulate requirements and apply rigorous prioritization to sequence the work
  • Navigate through ambiguity by applying judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions and evaluating the right course of action autonomously with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all data sources and processes to lead the design and implementation of scalable automated solutions for operational accounting, such as billing, reporting, and reconciliations
  • Work cross-functionally to develop automated tools for Finance and Accounting teams, managing upstream and downstream system impacts to ensure proper data flow
  • Understand how the company’s priorities relate to your own area of work, and clearly communicate the ‘why’ behind the work when defining and planning goals for the team. Actively engage with different business lines to understand historical transactions and define requirements for executing on the go-forward global strategy
  • Develop a deep understanding of Anchorage’s products, data systems, and processes, and identify opportunities for integration and optimization with billing and revenue management systems
  • Collaborate with other leaders across Finance, as well as cross-functionally, to establish plans for executing on business needs and promote a shared understanding of the needs of Anchorage
  • Foster collaboration and healthy communication across teams and stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships to gain trust and respect
  • Communicate complex issues clearly and credibly to all levels of the organization

Anchorage is a crypto-native digital asset platform offering a raft of solutions that help companies leverage blockchain technologies. Their advanced security architecture facilitates streamlined access to the complex and fragmented digital asset space.

Financial backing for Anchorage has come from prestigious investors Visa and Andreessen Horowitz. Anchorage's broad offerings are set to be matched by plans to partner across a wide spread of neobanks, challenger & incumbent banks, and corporate treasurers. This would mean an impressive expansion of their already substantial domain of influence in a rapidly developing sector.

In early 2021, Anchorage secured a national trust charter from the OCC, making it the first-ever federally chartered digital asset bank. This is significant, as it provides a good barrier to entry for other companies looking to compete in this space, and gives legacy institutions the ability to offer digital asset access to their clients. Though it has raised considerable funding in the past, crypto instability and wider macroeconomic challenges forced Anchorage to cut 20% of its staff in March 2023. 2022 clampdowns on customer due dilligence internal controllers added to the pressure on Anchorage to streamline and refocus its efforts.
