- 10+ years of sales experience, with a proven track record of successfully selling unified commerce solutions and other highly technical software products to enterprise retail customers, demonstrating consistent top performance
- Possess an in-depth understanding of omni-channel payment ecosystems, encompassing hardware solutions, point-of-sale systems, and e-commerce platforms, which allows for the development and implementation of integrated payment strategies that significantly enhance customer experiences across various channels
- Act as a trusted payments advisor, leveraging an extensive network of connections to facilitate access to senior decision-makers and unlock new opportunities for collaboration
- Skilled in analyzing technical requirements and crafting tailored solutions that leverage multiple products to meet diverse client needs
- Expertise in developing and executing comprehensive account plans that span multiple business units within complex organizations, ensuring alignment and maximizing opportunities
- Natural ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, fostering strong working relationships
- Highly developed presentation skills, particularly adept at delivering compelling in-person presentations to multiple stakeholders to convey value and drive engagement
- Proven capability to lead complex negotiations, navigating bespoke commercial agreements to achieve favorable outcomes for all parties involved

What the job involves
- As an Strategic Enterprise Account Executive, you’ll focus on the Fortune 500 and targeted retail accounts representing significant competitive shareshift
- You will cultivate new relationships on behalf of Stripe by leveraging your extensive ”rolodex” (network) and identify opportunities to expand Stripe’s presence in the retail sector
- We are looking for someone who can implement long-term sales strategies, effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, collaborate with product teams to align on technical and business requirements, create value in competitive situations, lead commercial negotiations, and successfully close deals
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with C-level executives, adeptly navigating complex organizational structures and fostering alignment among diverse stakeholder groups
- Design and implement long-term sales strategies aimed at driving significant revenue growth for Stripe
- Expand business opportunities within large retailers, quick service restaurants, and transportation sectors by identifying and capitalizing on key growth areas
- Develop and execute effective outbound strategies to create and nurture potential business opportunities, ensuring a robust sales pipeline
- Lead the development of deal strategies and manage commercial negotiations for large, complex organizations, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes
- Build and strengthen relationships with executive stakeholders within your assigned accounts, positioning Stripe as a trusted partner
- Take charge of account mapping and orchestrate strategic meetings with relevant external stakeholders to enhance customer relationships and drive engagement
- Actively lead and contribute to team projects aimed at refining our sales processes and shaping a positive, results-driven sales culture at Stripe
Our take
Stripe, nowadays a FinTech giant, spent the first few years since its founding building up its payments business, which primarily consisted of providing an API to eCommerce businesses so that they could easily integrate a payments option in their apps or websites, where before there was none.
More recently, Stripe has started to accelerate its growth with a significantly larger range of financial services including cash advances and credit cards. They also plan to build incorporation services, fraud protection, and more, diversifying its revenue away from payments and differentiating itself from its competitors.
To further expand its position, the company is looking to triple its presence in Ireland, and extend its services to countries with vast customer potential, including Brazil and India. Its latest venture, coming atop significant new funds, is to partner with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT - a win-win collaboration that will monetize OpenAI’s flagship products and at the same time enhance Stripe with GPT-4, as it moves forwards with intentions to "build the payments foundation for tomorrow's AI economy."
