What the job involves
- Amazon’s Last Mile Experience Design team is looking for a problem-solving, forward-thinking, and design process management-oriented UX Designer
- Our job on this team is to provide the best working experience for station and operations staff delivering billions of packages to customers every year
- Our team of designers and researchers work collaboratively with our product partners to research customer behavior and needs, and create customer experiences that meet them
- This includes systems such as the Amazon Rabbit delivery platform, DSP 2.0, and Delivery Station, as well as other systems supporting how addresses, geolocation, routing, and deliveries work
- In this role, the UX Designer for Station will operate as a lead at senior level to work with cross functional teams comprised of talented product managers, software developers, and operations partners in an agile environment to develop product concepts, define requirements and priorities, build and launch to market
- The UX Designer must be able to create and manage design intake for the team, set expectations with stakeholders, ensure design sprints are effectively run, and the outcomes and deliverables are in time
- As the UX Designer for station, you will be frequently be in the field to talk to our customers, and test your proposed design work
- Contribute to the design of useful, usable, and desirable user interfaces and service design in a collaborative environment
- Create user-centered designs by considering market segment analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings
- Use business requirements and customer research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements
- Design the visual style, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences,
- Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes
- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns
- Contribute team expansion by participating in interviewing and hiring process for designer and researcher roles
- Drive and manage the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently
- Assist the Sr. Manager of Design for Delivery station with functional project management, strategic and tactical labor planning, optimization and design intake decisions
- Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and Amazon executives for review and feedback
- Work with stakeholders to ensure design projects are run smoothly. Ensure effectively load balancing of design projects for the Station design team members

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
