Role
Who you are
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
- 2+ years experience working as a React developer
- Proficient understanding of React.js and its core principles
- Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)
- Experience in Typescript, CSS, and HTML
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs
- Good understanding of asynchronous request handling and partial page updates
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
- Experience using Git in a professional/workplace environment
- Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization
- Experience with user interface design
- Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks like Mocha, Jest, Cypress, or similar
- Experience with browser-based debugging and performance testing software
- Good documentation skills; tendency to take individual knowledge and document for the benefit of the entire team and ability to coach/lead others in this practice
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Strong project management skills
- Prior experience as a team lead
What the job involves
- As our lead front-end developer, you will set standards with regard to application architecture, html, css, unit and end-to-end testing
- You will also coach and guide the team with respect to front-end strategy and determine how best to disseminate relevant knowledge so everyone can perform at the highest level
- Develop and implement highly-responsive user interface components in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
- Develop and implement front-end architecture to support user interface concepts
- Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
- Translate wireframes and mockups into high quality code
- Optimize components for maximum performance across multiple browsers
- Work with Product Management and other stakeholders (Backend, UX, etc.) to iterate on new features
- Meet with development team to discuss user interface ideas and applications
- Monitor and improve front-end performance
- Document application changes and new standards/practices
- Keep up to date with latest technologies and trends and be able to incorporate new ideas into our current development process
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Coach and mentor other engineers on the team as appropriate
