Role
Who you are
- 7+ years in a senior, customer-facing role on large enterprise accounts in SaaS or technical software (CAE, PLM, CAD, EDA, simulation or comparable)
- A track record of growing enterprise accounts through adoption, programme execution and internal expansion: you have opened new departments and business units inside an existing customer, whether or not you held the pen on the contract
- Executive relationship-building. You can earn and keep the confidence of VP-level decision makers and business owners, and be treated as an advisor
- Programme-management strength across multi-stakeholder, multi-site enterprise rollouts
- Value-realization method. You have defined success criteria with a customer and evidenced the value delivered
- Experience in an engineering domain: enough grounding in engineering, simulation or comparable technical products to be credible with Heads of Engineering, VP R&D and Chief Engineers, and to discuss their challenges in their own terms. Hands-on practitioner depth is not required
- Comfort as the orchestrator of a virtual account team, driving outcomes together with colleagues across Marketing, SDR, Solution Engineering and Sales
- AI-native ways of working. You already use AI daily for productivity, and you can hold a credible conversation about what Engineering AI and Physics AI mean for an engineering organisation
What the job involves
- As an Enterprise CSM you are the partnership lead on a short selection of SimScale's top-tier enterprise accounts. Your work is to turn a foothold into an enterprise standard: drive adoption, prove the value delivered, build the relationships that give you real influence, and open the parts of the organisation that have not yet engaged. Your measure is the Net Retention Rate across your accounts
- The contribution of this role is crucial to SimScale's success. Our top-tier accounts hold significant room to grow, and this role creates the conditions for that growth (through adoption, through evidenced value, and through the relationships that open new parts of a large organisation)
- This is also a role with room to shape things. Alongside your accounts, you will have the opportunity to help shape and continuously optimise how Customer Success works at SimScale: how we run enterprise partnerships, what a great executive business review looks like, and how value realization is evidenced, in an international environment with a great deal of opportunity in it
- The partnership and growth agenda for a short selection of our top-tier enterprise accounts, with the time to go deep in each one
- Relationships with the people who decide. Key decision makers, executive sponsors, and the Initiative Business Owners who hold the budget and the outcomes for the programmes SimScale supports. Real influence with them is the foundation of everything else in this role
- Adoption initiatives that make SimScale the default simulation platform across engineering teams: enablement, standardisation, and embedding it in how engineers work day to day
- Enterprise programme management: multi-team, multi-site rollouts run to a plan, with milestones and executive reporting
- Value realization, then leverage. Define success metrics with the customer, evidence the ROI, and use the value generated in one team as the business case to scale the account into the next department, site or entity. Value realization is the engine of growth in this role
- Mapping and opening the enterprise: discovering departments, entities, business units and sites not yet engaged, identifying the right people inside them, and creating the conditions for growth
- Operational and executive business reviews that shape the customer's simulation strategy
- Orchestration of a full internal team around your accounts: Marketing (ABM campaigns), SDR, Solution Engineering and your commercial colleagues. You set the account's direction and mobilise the people who help deliver it
- Net Retention Rate across your accounts, including identifying risk early and bringing the right colleagues onto it
- SimScale is a collaborative environment, and this role sits right in the middle of it. You will have a full internal team around each of your accounts:
- Marketing designs and runs ABM campaigns into your accounts with you, turning your account intelligence into targeted programmes
- SDR takes the leads and new-department contacts you identify and runs structured outreach on them
- Solution Engineering brings the technical proof, pilots and enablement that make adoption real
- Your commercial colleagues take the qualified opportunities you create through negotiation and signature, so you can stay focused on the partnership
- Product and Engineering take the Voice of Customer from our largest accounts into the roadmap
Our take
Simulation and computer-aided engineering (CAE) software exists to help engineers in analysis tasks, by imitating real-life scenarios from mathematical formulae to enable optimisations and adjustments to be found prior to manufacture. However, though utility is high, CAE solutions can be difficult to implement, hard to scale, and require large investment in hardware and maintenance. SimScale provides a cloud-based simulation tool for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to enable engineers to easily implement simulation CAE across R&D cycles.
SimScale, founded in 2012, began life as a consultancy, before bringing cloud computing to simulation. Its platform enables organisations of any size to make use of engineering simulations, by removing the large hardware costs that would normally make them economically inaccessible; and providing accurate end-to-end simulations that can be generated without experience in the technology. The company initially provided CFD services, used to solve structural problems, before expanding to include FEA, for fluid-flow problems, by a partnership with the firm Simerics.
With hundreds of thousands of users already on board, SimScale is making great progress towards its goal of making engineering simulation a standard tools across industries. And with funding, the company is ready to field its expansion into new sectors, adding even more powerful simulation capabilities to meet the evolving needs of engineers across the globe.
