Who you are
- Passionate about optimizing complex algorithms for business growth and working with a fantastic team
- Deeply interested in ML Platform initiatives like building the infrastructure, abstractions, and tools for other ML practitioners
- Also excited about working on hands-on model development (iterating on features, training runs, and evaluation to ship improved models)
- Excited by iterating on complex problems with high reward in a fast-paced environment
- Happy working in a highly collaborative environment, pairing closely with data scientists, backend engineers, sales, and product managers daily
- 4+ years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining production ML systems at scale
- Demonstrated ability to design ML platforms or shared infrastructure
- Strong background in building scalable algorithms and systems, with a focus on performance and reliability
- Experience working with predictive models or auction mechanics, especially in the context of digital marketing or ads
- Proven ability to mentor engineers, helping them grow while delivering solutions aligned with revenue and business outcomes
- Good understanding of ML concepts and techniques. Experience with training models for production release is a big plus
- Experience with languages and tools like Python, Scala, and machine learning frameworks
- Driven, curious, and continuously seeking to improve products or learn new skills and technologies
- 5+ years of experience in professional software development
- A Computer Science or related degree (preferred)

- We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Sponsored Results Team, one of our fastest-growing product areas!
- In this role, you will use your machine learning and engineering expertise to develop systems that enhance our products and facilitate improved healthcare experiences for patients and providers
- As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a key role in building and optimizing new algorithms for our core Sponsored Results product
- You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Analytics, and Sales, to ensure that our algorithms are fine-tuned for maximum client value and revenue growth
- Healthcare providers face a challenging space to grow their business and use their resources effectively, with Zocdoc’s Sponsored Results providing unparalleled value in this space
- Your work will help drive performance improvements and expand Zocdoc’s share of marketing spend in a way that improves patient outcomes and experiences
- Designing and building scalable ML infrastructure, including feature stores, data pipelines, and experiment tracking, to streamline the end-to-end model lifecycle and accelerate ML Engineer development
- Contributing to the development and optimization of Sponsored Results auction algorithms, focusing on improving patient and provider experiences, predictive accuracy, and efficient bid pricing
- Closely partnering with Sales and Product teams as a fellow business owner to ensure the SPO platform is performing optimally for clients
- Brainstorming with an amazing team and rapidly shipping new features and scalable code to millions of users
- Making a meaningful impact as you own and release features that will impact patients, doctors, and team members alike
- Mentoring peers, with the notion that helping others means learning and growing yourself
