What the job involves

  • We are looking for someone to lead our hiring function. This candidate will work closely with the executive team to understand Luma’s needs, define roles, project manage the hiring processes and make Luma the best hiring team on earth
  • Obsess about who we should hire next and what we can do to recruit better
  • Act as the central hiring leader rather than as a vendor to hiring managers. Get detailed and strategic about business needs and requirements of individual teams that will achieve it
  • Design, own, and execute customized, full-cycle staffing plans, partnering closely with recruiters, hiring managers and teams to achieve the best results possible
  • Create and implement creative sourcing strategies to get the best applicants from across the industry, tailored to the role (research vs. engineering vs. design etc.)
  • Manage the candidate experience throughout the process to ensure an astonishing candidate experience. Even when we do not move forward, candidates should have a good experience
  • Set up compensation strategies, build an efficient pipeline, and proper team planning to reach hiring targets
  • Build an inclusive environment and diversify our candidate pool
  • Make the entire Luma team better recruiters, including brand messaging, hiring manager intake calibration, candidate qualification, debrief decisions, candidate offer generation, and closing
  • Help build and transmit a welcoming employer brand, promoting our employer value proposition and growing brand awareness
  • Responsible for the strategy and execution of how we structure our roles and responsibilities in a way that is aligned with our current and future stages

Our take

Luma AI is an AI-based API platform that harnesses the power of NeRF (neural radiance field) technology to create 3D models of any object through its mobile application. The generated 3D models can then be used for a range of digital uses, changing how people share memories, search for products, and reimagining internet and gaming spaces.

By utilizing NeRF technology, the company can bypass traditional programming requirements such as teams of 3D artists or expensive photogrammetry setups, thus democratizing 3D creation by making it accessible to anyone with the app.

While Luma AI faces a growing number of competitors in the space, it will need to focus on advancing and refining its technology to fully compete with AI giants such as OpenAI. However, the company’s focus on its specific area of the market certainly allows it to see vast growth opportunities.
