Who you are
- Deep experience of managing in strategic partnerships, business development, or senior client engagement roles, preferably within the fintech, payments, or technology sectors
- Deep expertise in the payments industry: A strong understanding of both traditional payment gateways and emerging APM solutions, with an ability to strategically assess and engage partners across a diverse range of payment methods and ecosystems
- Proven track record in developing, managing, and scaling high-value partnerships that directly contribute to business growth. Experience leading partnership initiatives in high-growth or scaling tech businesses is a plus
- Exceptional leadership & team-building abilities: A hands-on leader who can inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Technology teams to drive partnership success
- Strong negotiation and deal-making skills: Proven ability to negotiate complex agreements and navigate challenging business discussions, especially around pricing, revenue sharing, and contract terms
- Strategic thinker with excellent execution: Ability to think strategically while also being results-driven and execution-focused. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives at once
- Exceptional communication & relationship-building skills: Highly effective in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage with senior-level stakeholders and deliver impactful presentations and proposals
What the job involves
- BR-DGE is undergoing an exciting period of rapid growth, and we’re looking for an experienced Head of Partnerships to help shape the strategic direction of our partner ecosystem
- This management role will focus on driving our partnerships across the Fintech and Technology ecosystems, fuelling BR-DGE's merchant acquisition, expanding our product offerings and driving significant revenue
- You will be a key strategic leader responsible for cultivating and nurturing high-impact relationships and driving BR-DGE’s partnership strategy forward
- Lead & Drive Partnership Strategy: Develop and execute the overarching partnership strategy, working closely with the leadership & executive team to align with BR-DGE's growth goals and vision. Drive both current and new partnership opportunities, focusing on long-term strategic relationships
- Oversee Key Partnerships: Manage and deepen relationships with BR-DGE’s most strategic partners, guiding both internal teams and partners to maximize value and ensuring the seamless execution of partnership initiatives. Inspire and influence partners to drive new merchant referrals and increase revenue opportunities
- Strategic Business Development: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new partnership opportunities that are aligned with BR-DGE’s business objectives. Establish long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with key fintech and technology players to diversify BR-DGE's offering and expand into new markets
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Technology teams to ensure partnership messaging is consistent, relevant, and impactful. Influence the product roadmap to align with partner needs and market trends. Champion BR-DGE’s product and value proposition across the partner ecosystem
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Grow, lead and mentor the Partnerships team, helping them develop both professionally and in their ability to deliver results. Provide guidance on complex negotiations and partnership strategy while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
- Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership: Maintain an in-depth understanding of the fintech and payments landscape, including market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies. Use this insight to influence BR-DGE’s strategic direction and identify growth opportunities
- Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior leadership both internally and externally, presenting partnership performance, new opportunities, and strategic initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with executive teams of partner organizations to ensure alignment and continued growth
Our take
Online businesses today often work with so many different payment providers. One for Apple Pay, another for Google Pay, maybe a specialist for buy-now-pay-later options. Each requires its own technical integration and maintenance, creating a complex web that's expensive and slow to manage. BR-DGE simplifies this by acting as a single connection point to over 400 payment technologies
What makes BR-DGE different is their neutrality. Unlike many competitors who own parts of the payment chain and therefore favor their own services, BR-DGE stays independent. After raising £2.5M from Gloag Investment Group, they've grown rapidly. 600% revenue increase and 60% more merchants, while launching white-label tools that let payment companies offer orchestration to their own clients
As they scale, BR-DGE will need to navigate evolving European regulations while competing against well-funded players like Spreedly and Primer for the same enterprise customers. But by staying neutral and avoiding the conflicts that come with owning payment infrastructure, they're carving out a distinct position in an increasingly crowded market.
