Commercial Counsel, Fivetran

• 7+ years’ experience negotiating and drafting sales agreements, including in-house experience at a SaaS or technology company and/or law firm
• Strong experience negotiating SaaS, cloud, or technology agreements supporting direct sales teams
• Working knowledge of data privacy, security, and technology contracting issues in a B2B SaaS context
• Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Strong communication skills and comfort advising non-legal stakeholders
• Highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• High attention to detail, with demonstrated self-initiative that drives a desire for impact and achievement
• Admitted to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction

• We are seeking a business-minded Commercial Counsel with experience drafting and negotiating sales agreements with leading global and domestic organizations
• This role will report to the Director and Assistant General Counsel, Commercial, and will serve as a key legal partner to cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the company

• You'll support Fivetran’s sales organization by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer-facing commercial agreements, including MSAs, order forms, DPAs, BAAs, and related amendments
• Partner closely with Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Security, and RevOps to facilitate efficient deal execution while managing legal and business risk
• Advise on contractual issues related to data protection, privacy, security, IP, liability, and compliance in a SaaS environment
• Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance to help close deals while maintaining scalable contracting processes
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines
• Support cross-functional initiatives related to product launches, pricing, go-to-market motions, and customer lifecycle matters
