What the job involves
- As a Senior Android Engineer on the Patient Insurance team, you’ll help answer two of the most important questions patients face when seeking healthcare: Which providers can I see? How much will it cost?
- At our best, we empower patients to make informed healthcare decisions with confidence while driving significant, high-visibility impact on Zocdoc’s business
- You’ll tackle complex technical challenges, simplifying an intricate domain that involves vast datasets—spanning thousands of insurers and millions of patients—into seamless, user-friendly mobile experiences
- As a Senior Android Engineer, you’ll design, build, and optimize Zocdoc’s mobile applications, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and intuitive
- Making a meaningful impact as you participate in all phases of product development including the design, development, testing, and release of patient-facing features
- You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams, shaping the future of our mobile experience while mentoring other engineers and championing best practices across the organization
- Shipping production code using Kotlin/Java
- Building and fostering relationships with our agile team of engineers, product managers, and designers
- Mentoring your peers, with the notion that helping others means learning and growing yourself

The healthcare system often runs on inefficiencies; patients call outdated directories, wait weeks for a visit to a professional and are often hit with surprise bills. Zocdoc was founded to streamline the healthcare experience by putting the patient first.
The platform allows millions of users each month to view open appointment times with doctors, book instantly online, read verified reviews, and keep up-to-date with checkups. The platform works for both in-person and virtual care – the latter of which has seen a substantial increase in demand. Zocdoc is one of the few companies tackling these problems in healthcare.
The company has solidified its position in the SaaS space, in part by forming partnerships with companies such as WellHive, a leader in digital care, to drive healthcare support for veterans. Going forward, Zocdoc will continue to invest in its platform to optimize its services for its users.
