Who you are
- You will love working in a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment that values the craft of building cutting-edge products and solving complex problems
- We are searching for someone who is a self-starter and can architect novel technologies from 0 to 1 as well as lead large projects
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript and React
- Knowledge of SSR frameworks such as Remix or Next.js
- Experience building services using Node.js and technologies like Fastify or Express.js
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
- Strong collaboration skills and impulse to share your knowledge across the Frontend team and the wider tech community
- Ability to contribute to large projects with multiple engineers working on them
- You live for unit and functional testing, using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library and Enzyme
- Good knowledge of build tools such as Webpack, and/or RollUp
- Desire to get involved with deployment pipeline technologies like AWS and Docker
- Understand and drive build processes and CI tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Circle CI)
- You have opinions on what technologies and standards we should be using now and in the future - we always want to hear new ideas
What the job involves
- We are looking for experienced Frontend Engineers to come and join our close-knit agile delivery team building a brand-new experience for our users, using the latest technologies
- You’ll be joining a new, cross-functional squad, focused on building a ground up platform that will deliver a market leading product in the credit marketplace
- We are always looking for ways to do things better and encourage new joiners to bring their ideas and ways of working to the table
- Teach us some cool stuff and we'll teach you some, but most of all, you'll have fun doing it
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack solutions using Node.js and TypeScript, delivering data-driven user interfaces and backend services
- Build intuitive client UX utilising design systems and server-driven UI frameworks
- Optimise and scale databases for large-scale applications, leveraging SQL, PostgreSQL, and indexing strategies to ensure performance and maintainability
- Work closely with expert colleagues who will implement, monitor, and optimise real-time data pipelines with Kafka, ensuring robust message handling and distributed system performance to power your features
- Take ownership of end-to-end performance optimisation, both client- and server-side
- Lead the deployment and maintenance of production-grade code and databases across multiple global markets
- Monitor post-release performance, leveraging tools for reliability and system health
- Collaborate in an Agile environment, mentoring team members and those of other specialisms and fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the growth of our technology by driving improvements in standards, tools, and processes

Our take
The number of loan options for consumers has exploded in recent years, making credit assessment super important for companies offering these loans and giving ClearScore a big market to grow into.
Traditionally, lenders had a more 'computer says no' approach when it came to making loan decisions. With the wealth of data now available on people, credit assessment can be made smarter. ClearScore's approach has been to add on innovative products outside of credit scoring, e.g. helping consumers understand how to improve their financial position and offering car and home insurance.
In 2025, the company secured impressive funding from HSBC to fuel its product line and customer service channel growth. It has also successfully acquired a number of smaller fintechs, such as Money Dashboard in 2022 and Aro Finance in January 2025, further aiding ClearScore in its growth mission and product expansion.
