Role
Who you are
- Computer science student or new graduate. You are currently a senior BSCS student in school or a recent BSCS graduate. You have a strong foundation in Object-Oriented programming. (Expected Graduation 2026 or 2027)
- A desire to strengthen coding skills. You must have knowledge of frontend and backend technology
- Startup growth mindset. You are someone who thrives in a quickly-changing environment with the ability to hyperfocus and quickly pivot when needed. We’re growing, and fast; however, being a part of a startup means that some of our business goals exist 3 months in the future rather than 3 years
- Quick learner and highly adaptable. You enjoy learning and can pick up on new concepts quickly. You are also open and can adapt easily to new processes and ways of thinking. Learning is a never-ending process for you
- Strong communication and teamwork skills. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
- You have built applications in the Javascript Framework React
- You have a good understanding of Ajax
- You know how to write performant SQL statements
- You understand the fundamentals of Algorithms and Data structures
Desirable
- You have hands-on experience with PHP
- You have worked with AWS technologies
- You have worked in Kotlin or iOS
- You have a good eye for design

What the job involves
- Our Fullstack Software Engineering Intern role offers hands-on experience developing both the frontend and backend components of web applications hosted on AWS
- You’ll get the opportunity to learn frontend technologies such as React, HTML, and CSS; and backend technologies such as Apache, PHP, MySQL, and Linux
- During this internship, you will be given small tasks at the start to learn the code base
- After getting comfortable, you will be given a project that you can own and present at the end of the internship
- A successful intern will be able to execute the project and clearly present it to the company
- This is a 10- to 12-week internship. Full-time hours are required
- Work with experienced engineers to design, implement, and test features to enhance user experience and functionality
- Learn different areas of the software development stack: Frontend, Backend, DevOps, databases, and/or mobile
- Perform code reviews on peer engineers’ pull requests
- Query data to gather metrics about product usage
- Work with products that integrate with Generative AI
- Present a mobile, fullstack, or DevOps project to the Engineering team by the end of the internship
Our take
These days, collaboration in the workplace is key to efficient company processes, with sharing links being an important part of workflows. However, lengthy, unreadable URLs are difficult to scan-search and take up space in applications. GoLinks transforms large URLs into human-readable go links that are more easily managed in emails and chats, whilst still working directly in browsers.
Traditionally, links have been shared in the form of URLs, with titles sometimes attached to identify the destination. The quickest way to access much-used links has been to bookmark them, but staff can quickly rack up files upon files of bookmarks which become as slow to search through as the original place the links were posted. By making links much shorter, and into plain words, GoLinks makes it possible for staff to simply recall them, granting quick access without skimming documents or bookmarks. GoLinks is not the only link-shortening product available, with an array of alternatives – some of which can be easier to employ – but the company stands out as delivering a quicker return on investment and being overall more affordable.
