Who you are
- Are a rising Junior, Senior, or recent college graduate pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Marketing or a related field
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Are familiar with social media platforms and digital marketing trends
- Are organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter with a positive attitude
- Bonus points if you have experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, HubSpot, or Google Analytics
What the job involves
- Ternary is seeking a Summer Marketing Intern to join our mission of building the best multi-cloud FinOps platform on the market. You'll gain hands-on experience contributing to digital marketing efforts that help engineers, finance, and business leaders maximize the business value of the cloud
- As a Summer Marketing Intern at Ternary, you’ll play an important role in supporting our digital marketing efforts, learning the essentials of campaign execution, social media management, and market research
- Are a passionate team devoted to building the platform we wish we had in our past roles as engineers, finance leaders, and operators
- Have a founding team with deep experience; many of us helped build the earliest products in the FinOps space
- Serve enterprise customers and managed service providers operating at massive scale
- Assist in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns
- Create engaging social media content (both messaging and graphics) across platforms
- Support website content publication and maintenance
- Conduct market and competitor research
- Analyze marketing campaign metrics and contribute to reporting
- Collaborate with the marketing team on brainstorming and content development
- Internship Duration: June through August 2025
Our take
As businesses increasingly move their data and processing power off premises, finance teams must ensure cloud spending remains in budget. However, collaboration with engineers to manage cloud usage can prove difficult, with anomalies often addressed after they have occurred. Ternary’s Google Cloud native tool connects finance and engineer teams to one another, and provides automation for collaboration.
Ternary was founded in 2020 in response to the founders’ first-hand challenges getting engineering and finance teams to collaborate on cloud spend. Its platform combats reactive management of variable cloud spending by empowering engineers to make informed cloud-cost decisions, and also giving finance teams context for where their cloud budget is being spent. To date it has managed over $7 billion in cloud spend, realizing $1.5 billion in savings for its customers.
The company has an over 100 active enterprise customers and is FinOps Foundation certified. It is riding the AI wave by adopting the new technology to predict business cloud needs, automatically generating actionable insights around cost reductions and anomalies.
