Role
Who you are
- You have solid experience in paid search (Google/Microsoft Ads), with a proven track record of scaling volumes within agreed efficiency thresholds. Display and/or paid social experience is a plus
- You possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with proficient use of Excel/Google Sheets. SQL skills are a bonus
- You have a strong understanding of wider digital marketing channels and are up-to-date on the latest privacy/attribution challenges
- You possess a strong technical understanding of tracking, tagging, and attribution
- You have the ability to work cross-functionally, juggle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines effectively
- You are a strong communicator with the ability to establish and manage internal and external relationships
- You have experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented company and are a proactive self-starter who can take ownership and drive projects forward

What the job involves
- I'm looking for a highly motivated PPC Manager to join our dynamic Marketing team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in driving profitable new user growth and promoting the Motorway brand across our paid acquisition channels. You'll have the opportunity to own and optimise our PPC campaigns, using data-driven insights to ensure continuous growth and evolution. In this role, you will:
- Manage, optimise, and scale our PPC and Performance Max campaigns to maximise ROI
- Oversee day-to-day campaign management, analysing key KPIs to identify growth opportunities
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to understand campaign performance trends and present recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Identify key growth levers and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive initiatives forward
- Explore and implement innovative paid media strategies (e.g., value-based bidding, dynamic creative optimisation, audience expansion) to enhance performance
- Own our experimentation roadmap, developing hypotheses for A/B tests and sharing learnings
- Collaborate with wider channels and cross-functional teams (data, design, finance, product) to achieve business goals

Like many industries, the second-hand car market has undergone significant transformation, with more and more dealers and car owners looking to buy and sell cars online. Motorway is one of a handful of online car marketplaces that are capitalising on this trend.
Motorway differentiates itself from traditional e-commerce and brick and mortar stores because it’s a marketplace, rather than an inventory. This allows for improved speed and verification. Owners sell their cars 100% online in as little as 24 hours with free car collection, while Motorway also supports car dealerships with a new channel for acquisition of used car stock.
Since being founded in 2017, Motorway has grown rapidly, achieving unicorn status in 2021. It is planning on putting this capital to use expanding both geographically and internally, adding more features to its already well-reviewed product. One such feature is its ULEZ checker, which allows car buyers to assess the environmental compliance of vehicles.
The biggest challenge Motorway faces is competing with other well-funded competitors jumping on this trend, such as Auto1 and Cazoo, as well as established companies like Webuyanycar.com. However, online penetration in the £480 billion British and EU used car market is minimal - suggesting that there is enough market to share amongst Motorway and its competitors.
