Who you are
- 5+ years developing innovative and delightful consumer experiences at scale in HTML, CSS, JS, React, Angular, NodeJS, Flask, etc
- Background and experience with modern design processes and tools like Figma
- Experience building user friendly experiences based on design and product requirements
- Knowledge of core CS fundamentals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter - able to come up to speed on complex, difficult concepts with minimal assistance
- Proven track record of communicating complex technical issues across teams
- Curiosity and excitement about generative AI technology and its impact on the creative economy
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields

- As a Frontend Engineer, you will develop a sleek and engaging user interface in a large-scale consumer web environment
- You will play an important role in each step of the product development process, from conceptualization to implementation to release; from rapidly prototyping, running A/B tests, to architecting and building solutions that can scale to support millions of users
- Your ideas will help shape the direction of our product(s)
- You will build out consumer-facing features to power the future of inspiration to the planet
- You will learn about new technologies and discuss solutions to problems
- You will own end-to-end feature development
- You will write clean, testable, peer-reviewed code
Our take
With text-to-image software well and truly in the public conscience, Ideogram has launched a platform to support creativity, while capitalising on the popularity of AI image creation services.
Its generative AI platform requires a prompt and rendering style - think anime, fantasy, or cinematic - from which it creates a high quality image for the user. As with other platforms of its type, the images tend to be flawed but interesting, and it appears that almost anything can be created.
Of course, there is a downside to launching into a market that is under such a strong spotlight, especially as many artists raise concerns over their work being used to train image creation AI without their consent. For its part, Ideogram claims to operate with a "high standard for trust and safety", utilizing a $22.3 million CAD funding round to grow its team and footprint.
