Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on systems architecture, databases, and performance optimization with experience programming in either Rust or C++
- Extensive experience building and scaling high-throughput systems
- Strong knowledge of data storage architectures, database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), and distributed computing
- Postgres experience is highly desirable
- Expertise in performance tuning and optimizing both system architecture and low-level services
- Ability to lead technically complex projects and drive solutions from concept to production
What the job involves
- The Data Platform team is responsible for developing indexing solutions that support high-throughput blockchain data consumption, including first-party applications, data ingestion frameworks, and RPC node services
- This role is balancing high-level architectural vision, understanding end to end application flows, hands-on DB performance optimizations, constant experimentation and lots of coding
- What You'll Do:
- Build a robust, high-performance indexing framework that supports both real-time and batch processing needs
- Optimize Sui’s data infrastructure from end-to-end: write performance, storage footprint, read performance, scaling, reliability, and costs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration of data platform solutions with first-party applications and the ecosystem at large
- Serve as the technical lead on key projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions on time
Our take
Mysten Labs has been created with the ambition to build a blockchain comparable to Ethereum or Solanan but with even greater capabilities. That means tackling ‘pain points’ currently found in blockchain technology like scaling transactions and speed to meet growing demand.
To do this, Mysten is building foundational infrastructure for web3 to tackle these challenges and accelerate development and adoption of decentralized services. The startup is determined to build a platform that finally lets Web3 developers focus on UI, accelerating adoption, without compromising on security and other areas through Layer 2 and Layer 3 platforms.
The company is now focused on expanding partnerships with existing networks such as Ethos and Orange Comet Partners that integrate Mysten technology, and open protocols based on Mysten-designed components.
One of the startup’s focuses has been on developing a next-generation NFT platform. However, that market has come under increasing scrutiny in recent times. Ensuring that the startup assigns developer and community outreach resources in the right places will be crucial to building a sustainable business.
