Engineering Manager, SmarterDx

• The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about developer efficiency through excellent planning, techniques, and architectures and is also able to jump into tough problems to help resolve them
• 12+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years as an engineering manager
• Expertise running an agile process (preferably Kanban) for a team and fluency with the agile toolkit
• Expertise with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes
• Deep experience designing and implementing microservice architectures
• Experience in Python and one or more database systems, especially PostgreSQL
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a security-conscious domain
• Experience working at startups, especially in the health tech space
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Desirable

• We’re looking for a highly technical Engineering Manager to lead a senior team of engineers managing our AWS cloud infrastructure and building our development platform on Kubernetes
• Be accountable for all aspects of the team’s performance including velocity of feature delivery, quality, operational excellence, hiring, retention, professional growth, and well-being
• Foster a culture of clarity, alignment, and confidence to help the team deliver on goals effectively
• Work with stakeholders to drive out the strategy, roadmap, and architecture for the application development platform
• Design, build, and launch new platform features to improve the overall quality and experience of software development at SmarterDx
• Champion DevOps and SRE culture across the organization
• Support our platform in production
