Role
Who you are
- Product Marketing Expertise: 3+ years of proven experience in B2B product marketing, preferably within the shipping, logistics, technology/SaaS, retail, or e-commerce industry
- Data-Driven Mindset: A deep analytical background with proficiency in data analysis tools and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Industry Knowledge: Experience working with B2B companies, ideally with exposure to the e-commerce or logistics sectors. Experience working with a 3PL is a plus
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Leadership Qualities: A strong leadership presence with the ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across teams
- Project Management Skills: Experience with project management and workflow tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Monday.com) and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Creative Vision: Comfortable providing and receiving creative feedback, with a strong understanding of various content types and advertising mediums and their appropriate usage
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to understand complex business challenges and develop strategies to address them
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
- 3+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably in the B2B technology or SaaS companies (experience in the logistics/e-commerce industry is a plus)
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives
- Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle
- Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with different teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with project management and workflow tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Monday.com, etc.)
- Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making as well as skills with the ability to track key metrics, interpret data, and generate actionable insights
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or other related fields
What the job involves
- This is a highly visible and collaborative role where you'll be the bridge between our Product, Sales, Customer Support, and Marketing teams
- You'll be the champion for our products and solutions, ensuring that our messaging resonates with our target audience and that our sales team has the tools and knowledge they need to succeed
- This is a hands-on, individual contributor role with immense opportunity for impact
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Spearhead the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for new product launches and feature releases
- Messaging and Positioning: Craft compelling and differentiated messaging that resonates with our target audience across all channels
- Content Creation: Develop a wide range of marketing assets, including website copy, blog posts, case studies, eBooks, sales presentations, demos, social media content, and videos
- Sales Enablement: Empower our sales team with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to effectively sell our solutions. This includes creating sales collateral, conducting product training, and developing sales playbooks
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and customer analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities
- Product Launch Campaign Management: Plan and execute impactful product launches, coordinating across teams to ensure a smooth and successful rollout. You will lead the planning and execution of integrated product marketing campaigns across digital, social media, email, content, and events
- Demand Generation: Collaborate with the demand generation team to develop and execute campaigns that drive qualified leads and support sales objectives
- Product Adoption: Develop and implement strategies to drive product adoption and usage among existing customers
- Metrics and Reporting: Track and analyze key metrics to measure the effectiveness of product marketing activities, optimize campaigns, and identify areas for improvement
Our take
ShipMonk was created when its founder realized how US merchants would often refuse to ship to certain locations internationally. The company has grown to allow small to medium size e-commerce brands to scale through its 4-in-1 cloud based software, which integrates with a company's inventory management, orders, warehousing and shipping systems.
To supplement its SaaS and offer real logistical value, ShipMonk operates a growing number of strategically located warehouses throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and the UK. This means that even the smallest eCommerce brands are able to deliver goods within just two days, while reducing shipping costs compared to traditional delivery channels.
Since launching in 2014, ShipMonkâs trajectory has been remarkable for a company that was largely bootstrapped without major funding. However, 2020 saw a boom in demand for its services, and since then ShipMonk has scaled up enormously, receiving huge financial investment and acquiring complementary businesses along the way. Having now established fulfilment centres in Birmingham (UK) and Texas, ShipMonk is eyeing up strategic acquisitions and additional expansion within the US and Europe.
