Assistant Controller, Lumafield

• Excellent documentation skills, research and resolution skills, and data analysis
• Degree(s) in Accounting
• At least 10 years experience in public and/or private accounting. CPA/CA preferred
• Self motivated to meet goals in a fast-paced, challenging environment with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive process improvements
• Controllership experience, including knowledge of best practices and procedures with proven thought leadership skills including ability to identify, lead and implement process efficiencies and value-added solutions
• Proven supervisory and managerial skills, including ability to take charge, ensure accountability and provide team leadership and guidance
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including familiarity with ASC 606 and 842
• Advanced proficiency in Excel

• Key responsibilities will be conducting internal and external financial reporting, managing the monthly close, review and approval of day-to-day journal entries, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, as well as implementing new systems and processes, internal controls, and accounting policies
• Play a key role in our business transformation efforts as we scale on a high-growth trajectory and will have the opportunity to work on projects that revamp and modernize the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting cycles
• Oversee state and local compliance for payroll, sales and use taxes, working with third-party advisors as needed. Partner with The People Team as needed to support payroll and leave of absence administration
• Own and support the acceleration and maturation of our monthly-close process by streamlining tasks, automating reporting and enhancing controls
• Lead accounting projects and provide technical accounting support on various business transactions and complex accounting matters
• Partner with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement and solve problems
• Assist in the creation of detailed narratives of procedures and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal quality controls
• Assist with the preparation and review of reconciliations of various general ledger accounts
• Help prepare quarterly financial statements and provide accounting support on financial reporting projects
• Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
