Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Advanced degree preferred)
- Proven technical leadership with 4+ years of experience in full-stack development and 2+ years managing highly technical engineering teams
- Strong software design and architecture skills, with experience in API development, schema design, etc
- Expertise in programming languages such as TypeScript and Python, with a disciplined approach to software development focused on testing and quality
- Hands-on experience with front-end frameworks like React
- Project management expertise, including experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira, demonstrating ownership of end-to-end project delivery
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork across engineering, product, and design teams
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a willingness to dive deep to drive results
- Bonus: Experience with leveraging large language models (e.g., GPT-4, Gemini) for product development, and working with AI service APIs (e.g., text-to-speech, speech-to-text, translation, transcription)

- As Senior Engineering Manager for the Perception engineering team at Labelbox, you will lead a team that builds easy-to-use and efficient tools that support the development of cutting-edge AI systems like those for generative AI and computer vision
- In this role, you will manage the team’s daily operations, including sprint planning, daily standups, and one-on-one meetings, ensuring smooth execution and continuous progress
- You will also contribute technical expertise in full-stack development, guiding the team in building robust and efficient systems
- Collaboration is key—you will work closely with other engineering teams to align on architecture, share best practices, and drive cross-functional initiatives

This reduces costly and labour-intensive human data labelling, a major stumbling block for the increasing number of larger companies looking to deploy ML at scale.
