Role
Who you are
- At least two years of sales experience, or equivalent
- 6+ months of leadership or mentoring experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of proven strategic relationships
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales quotas. Closing experience is desirable but not essential
- Previous experience within software, technology, publishing, media, and advertising or design market segments preferred
- Fluency in a second European language is preferred
- Previous experience in the business development function
- Strong prospecting and written skills
- Understanding of CRM, prospecting, and automation platforms such as Salesforce, LinkedIn, Zoominfo, Outreach, Apollo etc
What the job involves
- In this management role, you will have the opportunity to work with large global brands and understand all aspects of the sales lifecycle
- We are looking for a persuasive, strategic candidate who is focused on building and mentoring a team of Business Development Representatives
- This role provides a unique opportunity to create and nurture positive relationships with some of the world's largest brands while also building a team and is also an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to engage with the best people and clients while executing sales strategies and programs to key accounts
- Managing a team of business development representatives
- Coaching junior level reps
- Working with our Perpetual Demand Generation Team to drive inbound leads to convert to sales opportunities
- Working with Enterprise and Mid Market Account Executives, as well as sales leaders to drive new business opportunities
- Leading new groups of BDRsthrough onboarding
- Creating and leading regular trainings to grow and promote sales growth
- Hiring entry level sellers into our business
- Teaching essential sales qualification skills and adding depth to our BDR roster
- Performing mock calls, workshopping messaging, providing strategy led account planning and prospecting guidance
- Develop and maintain complex relationships throughout our organization globally, and promote communication and trust among your team
Our take
Monotype is a giant in the typeface industry, with well over 100 years in the business. It owns the rights to over 10,000 fonts, including A-list players like Helvetica and Times New Roman. Whilst typeface creation might not seem to be the booming industry it once was, Monotype is carving out some interesting new development opportunities in the hopes of further growth.
As more major organizations go digital, and go global, they need to carry their house image across a growing number of diverse markets (and languages) and render the fonts in high definition. Monotype has been developing a strong reputation for designing multi-lingual brand identities - for example, for the city of Dubai - but also works with Google to bring hundreds of historically unrendered fonts online.
In this way, Monotype is smartly transitioning from a designer/developer of contemporary fonts to a facilitator helping brands to expand globally and into the digital space. With offerings in place to provide this service to fast-growing industries like gaming and online streaming, Monotype is hitching its wagon to hugely lucrative markets.
