Role
Who you are
- We work primarily in TypeScript and React, but prior experience is not required
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with significant experience as a software engineer
- Track record of figuring out how to set individuals and teams up for success
- You are technical enough to guide the team through product and technical decisions
What the job involves
- The Core Finance Team owns the tax calculation, report generation, and payment systems for Anrok customers
- As a software engineering manager at Anrok, you have the opportunity to craft and implement processes for an effective team, help prioritize the roadmap, and coach and develop engineers
- Work on and manage a talented team building innovative calculation, reporting, and payment products
- Set the product and technical strategy and implement processes for high-quality execution
- Contribute directly to the successful delivery of the team’s roadmap through both writing and reviewing code
- Recruit and mentor engineers
- Foster a collaborative and healthy culture of feedback, opportunity, and growth for the team
- Contribute to the Anrok engineering culture and initiatives
- For employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area, we follow a hybrid model. Where we come into the office 3 days a week to collaborate in person. For employees located outside of the San Francisco Bay Area, you will work remotely full-time
Our take
Software is becoming an increasingly taxable enterprise, in increasingly nuanced and jurisdiction-specific ways thanks to new rulings in the late 2010s. SaaS companies need to keep track of both their physical and economic nexuses, leaving many companies scrambling to stay compliant. Anrok has developed a simple API-based solution to help companies get there.
Anrok's no-code, out-of-the-box tool helps businesses easily calculate sales tax monitoring, calculation, and remittance wherever their product is used, and easily identify new exposures. It’s a simple solution to a complex problem, and the result for Anrok has been impressive funding and strong growth in the short few years it’s been in operation.
This will in part be thanks to the company’s astute pricing model: much like SaaS businesses themselves, it’s based on demand. This makes it scaleable enough to encompass both smaller and enterprise SaaS clients. This, in turn, means Anrok’s addressable market within the SaaS sector is substantial. And that’s a sector that in itself is continuing to see remarkable growth. All this makes it a promising, and as of yet fairly unchallenged, position that Anrok is carving out.
