Who you are
- The ideal candidate blends creative instinct with performance, with experience uniting brand, creative, content, and social into a high-impact, cohesive engine
- This is a high-impact leadership role for a passionate B2B brand marketer, someone who’s built brands that break through, taken smart risks, and helped define industries
- You know how to craft and launch mid- and lower-funnel campaigns that capture attention, influence senior marketers, agency leaders, and industry insiders, and drive growth
- And you’re ready to champion Smartly’s marketing team models what’s possible with AI-driven advertising
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field is required, an advanced degree is preferred
- 15+ years experience and a proven track record leading brand marketing and event with a B2B focus
- An innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
- A true brand ambassador who leads from the front
- Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of brand marketing & events professionals
- Are a self reliant problem solver and results driven
- The ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
- Are a persuasive communicator with exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
What the job involves
- Smartly is looking for a Vice President, Marketing to define how our brand shows up and scales in the AI era
- You will set the Smartly brand vision, translate a complex technical offering into stories and experiences, and lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, growth, and help establish Smartly as a leader in AI powered SaaS
- You are responsible for leading a team of creative professionals and content marketers, setting brand and content strategies backed by data, and collaborating with communications, product, commercial and growth teams to develop marketing plans, analyze results, identify opportunities and execute on them
- Lead our marketing brand, content, and creative strategy to drive awareness and growth, and support our go-to-market strategy to increase adoption
- Oversee content marketing strategies based on business objectives, category focus and customer audience segments across all channels (online/offline/social)
- Develop, communicate and maintain a unified brand story across all channels
- Champion AI adoption across Marketing, integrating AI-powered creative, insights, and workflows into how we build brand, content, and campaigns
- Lead the creative vision and execution of Smartly’s brand design ensuring every touchpoint, from campaigns to events, reflects a cohesive and high-impact visual identity that elevates perception, drives recognition, and differentiates Smartly in the market
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that customer, vendor, employee and partnership touch points align with brand strategy and support messaging priorities
- Lead and direct external agencies responsible for the development of strategy and execution of brand initiatives
- Implement brand awareness/brand health measurement
- Build, lead and mentor top performing teams in creative, content, and events
- Manage the B2B marketing budget effectively, allocating resources for maximum impact and return on investment

Our take
Smartly.io helps advertisers automate their campaigns across the largest media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest. After seeing quick success following Facebook’s 2012 IPO, the company now works with over 700 brands including eBay, Uber, Ralph Lauren, Under Armour and TechStyle.
Its suite of tools automatically creates ads and videos from product images - handling budget allocation and audience targeting, as well as analysing where and when to purchase advertising. Consequently, Smartly.io has positioned itself to play a leading role in a market where brand and performance work are converging.
Smartly.io sold a majority stake to Providence Equity Partners in 2019 in a move to further its presence in the US. The company has since gone on to make several acquisitions of its own with Viralspace.ai and Ad-Lib.io. Smartly.io's ability to adapt to evolving advertising trends supports its continued growth, and its introduction of AI-powered intelligence across its platform shows it is keeping up with technology trends too.
