Who you are
- You have 6-8+ years of relevant experience working in Human Resources for a high-growth, dynamic organization, preferably in technology
- You have experience with being the face of HR, representing policies and practices to managers and employees across the organization
- You have good working knowledge of HR federal & state laws and regulations
- You demonstrate strong decision-making skills with a logical approach
- You have excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- You have the ability to analyze data, draw accurate conclusions, and communicate key messages succinctly
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws, with a demonstrated ability to apply them in a business context
- Experienced working in high growth startup environments: You have the ability to move fast, adapt, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment where you derive priorities, requirements, and goals from company context

- Proficiency in HRIS systems and software, with experience managing employee data and generating HR reports

What the job involves
- MikMak is seeking a dynamic People Business Partner to join our People Team. At MikMak, our goal is to attract, recruit, onboard, develop, reward, and motivate a high-performance team
- This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with our global employee base in delivering innovative, consultative solutions that drive performance and results
- You will serve as a trusted partner in the effective delivery of HR solutions, including compensation, benefits, immigration, global employment, performance management, compliance, recruiting support, onboarding, and employee relations
- You will be an ambassador of MikMak’s culture, working closely with our most important asset, our People!
- This role reports to the Head of People and is a remote position that can be done from anywhere in the U.S
- You will design, support, and execute People-focused programs and strategy
- You will provide coaching and guidance on performance management issues, professional development, career pathing, and leveling
- You will oversee sensitive employee relations issues as they arise
- You will partner with employees and management to provide policy guidance and interpretation
- You will be responsible for managing and supporting the onboarding, exit, and performance review processes
- You will actively support and contribute to company-wide events and culture initiatives
- You will be responsible for maintaining and protecting confidential data with great discretion, judgment, and professionalism
- You will serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, payroll, and other people-related matters, providing timely and accurate responses
- You will administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, and assist employees with enrollment, changes, and questions
- You will maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations
- You will oversee HR compliance efforts, including EEO reporting, I-9 verification, and other regulatory requirements, to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, IT, and operations, to streamline processes, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement in people operations
Our take
MikMak provides digital marketing software that helps companies understand their consumers' online journey through analytics. Through its platform, users can track sales and optimize the shopability of their existing eCommerce marketplaces, as well as supercharge digital advertising.
The eCommerce landscape has developed massively in recent years, and MikMak faces a number of competitors, but the company has found much success in enabling eCommerce for the lesser-served grocery and alcohol industries. It has gained big-name clients such as Amazon, Target, and Walmart, and has raised significant investment for its expansion.
MikMak is now regarded as a leader in the eCommerce acceleration space, and in 2023 announced a definitive agreement to acquire Swaven. The combination of MikMak's existing platform with Swaven's own enablement and analytics software is cited to "pave the path towards MikMak 3.0", which the company claims will be the world’s most advanced eCommerce enablement and analytics platform to date.
