Our take
Global temperatures are on the rise, and climate change is leading to more frequent high-temperature extremes, such as heatwaves and wildfires. Looking to help slow and combat global warming is OroraTech, a thermal intelligence solution.
The company uses its 20+ satellites and artificial intelligence to acquire and track thermal data. This means that events like wildfires can be detected early, which could be a game changer for reducing their environmental impact. Extending from natural disasters, the technology also has potential in other sectors like smart farming and insurance.
Thanks to funding, OroraTech has expanded beyond its roots in Germany, making its mark in Brazil, Canada, Australia, and Greece. The company has also taken a giant leap forward by partnering with Rocket Lab, who have launched 8 wildfire detection satellites into orbit for OroraTech. This partnership is a huge milestone in OroraTech's journey, propelling it even closer to its mission.
