Who you are
- The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong desire to build the FP&A function from the ground up and become a critical part of our growth journey
- The person needs to possess an incredible work ethic, grit, integrity, and subject matter expertise
- 4-year degree in a relevant field (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics) with strong academic performance. Formal training in Financial and/or Accounting concepts is preferred
- FP&A experience in SaaS, ideally in Vertical SaaS with multiple revenue streams
- 10+ years of experience in a top management consulting firm, investment bank, private equity, hedge fund, and/or tech company in a finance/strategy/business development role. We are looking for candidates that have worked in high-performance teams using complex modeling to discover business insights
- High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem-solving utilizing financial modeling, including strong Excel skills
- Comfortable doing detailed systems (e.g. quickbooks, etc.) work to ensure accurate and scalable reporting
- Extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Candidates are required to be highly analytical, committed, and dependable, possessing strong interpersonal communication skills. (S)he must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of curiosity, focus on generating results, and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
What the job involves
- An opportunity to build and scale an organization that will lead the entire company on financial planning, modeling, discipline, and accountability

- The position will report directly to the CEO and work very closely with the founding team
- There will also be lots of interaction and collaboration with leaders across the organization as well as our board members, investors, and partners
- Define and execute the company's financial planning and analysis activities
- Prepares supporting reports that assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, and procedures relating to the financial performance of the company
- Develop budgets and reports for estimated future revenue, gross margins, fixed overhead, capital expenditures, etc
- Translate financials into actionable insights for the executive team and key business partners
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and forecast processes including accruals, variance explanations, and management reporting
- Build Board of Directors reporting materials
- Collaborate closely with go to market teams, R&D, and other departments to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables
- Collaborate closely with the executive team to translate the strategic vision into a financial plan
- Lead forecasting, close, and planning processes across the company
- Manage 3rd party accounting team
- Build and develop finance and accounting organization
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations
- Promote thought-leadership: You will identify areas for process improvement to scale forecasting and reporting tools, procedures, and processes

As sustainability becomes an ever more pressing issue, the need for haulers to meet the demands of net zero and environmental friendliness has meant that waste management software is in more demand than ever.
CurbWaste is a software solution for waste haulers to manage the logistics, tracking, training and onboarding needs of their business. With research suggesting that almost 70% of waste haulers prefer digital solutions, the company has tapped into a sector that, although originally reluctant to embrace digitisation, has seen strong uptake and investment over the last few years.
That is certainly the case for CurbWaste, which received a funding round of $10 million at the end of 2023. The company will use this investment to expand its business reach, capitalising on the fact that waste management is coming under increasing scrutiny.
